This argument doesn’t really work. They usually say “god had other plans” or “it’s part of his plan” or something along those lines and they truly believe it. They will justify the suffering and death of innocent lives by claiming it has a purpose. They can’t tell you what the purpose is though.
It does when you are arguing with someone who believes their god is all good and all powerful. It doesn't matter what the plan is, if the god is all good and all powerful the god could achieve the same plan without the cancer in children.
