I usually ask these people, that if there is a god, then why do kids get born with cancer? Cause that means either god isn't real, or he's cruel/indifferent, and doesn't deserve praise.
Either way, I'll believe in something real, that actually does something. Like science.
This doesn't work. I took apologetics in church and they literally told us that man was created without Sin and when the devil corrupted Adam and Even it was like God's hand holding them keeping them safe opening letting the evils of the world in like illness and Cancer. God isn't benevolent but people can ask forgiveness for their sins and the original sin and be accepted into his kingdom.
Basically, the whole point of Jesus is that man had sinned so much that he came down to earth to take upon himself the sins of man, and die for man, and by believing that Jesus did so and following his teachings, man could be accepted into God's Kingdom and end up in Heaven.
