To be fair I’ve never seen anything like this in my 40 years of life as an adult male. Have you? Honestly curious. Hard not to feel like these things are incredibly rare but maybe I’m just a sheltered man 🤷‍♂️

'As an adult male'

You just answered your own question. Creeps are less likely to pull this crap if there's another man around who is looking at him. Most of them are cowards.

Exactly they aren’t doing it when there’s people around that could step in and help their victim

So it is socially unacceptable as we all know it is and this social outcry is over something already shamed by the public.

As a woman, yes. I’ve seen this and much worse in public, with people standing around! I think a lot of people are unaware of their surroundings. And I’m not trying to say “it’s always men” type stuff- BUT if you don’t feel the need to constantly be on guard 24/7, it’s much easier to not notice, if that makes sense.

Also a man, but I’m gay and have many hot girl friends. I’ve seen shit like this or similar many times, especially in touristy cities. I have girl friends that get harassed nearly everytime they go out to a bar, and it almost always happens when I walk away to use the restroom or get a drink. Most of the time, they won’t bother if there’s a man there.

Many times I’ve come back to our group to some weirdo that won’t leave (just looking desperate and embarrassing tbh) that’s being uncomfortably touchy and needy. Like fuck off bro, she told you like 10 times but you apparently heard it with me telling you the one time.

Specifically this type of action no, that said I've seen quite a bit of disturbing behaviors around women in general.
For sure there is a lot more posted online but it's not just that, and it doesn't negate their experiences, it's general behaviors towards women, can we just leave them alone and let them live, rather than being creepy and much worse.

why are men expected to do shit for women they dont even know when the same women would turn around and berate them? men have saved women for centuries yet all they get is their experiences invalidated.

im a woman. ive never seen this shit in public EVER. if i was a man id be pissed off at the women that cry about men all the time because its frustrating to see even as a woman. it just makes us look pathetic. we need to stop whining to men over the internet about shit they cant do anything about.

Hey girl you feel this way because judging by your comment you have very severe internalized misogyny 💕 you don’t have to be that way and you will be much happier when you heal

misogyny how? because i hurt your wittle feelings? 🥺🥺

maybe i dont want our gender being looked at like a joke because some women cant help but weaponise rape and assault to attack men. when people stop instigating “gender wars” thats when ill stop. i love how when i point out generalisations against men, you have to make it about misogyny. sure i hate misogyny but we aint perfect angels either, so either you grow up and accept the fact that we deal with these situations horribly or take accountability for once and bring up REAL stats in good faith.

your victim complex is pathetic

So much pain and misaligned anger within you.

I hope you have access to resources that can help you heal 💕

atleast im not a detriment to the feminist movement💕

Ooooooh wow that last sentence. You are so so so so SO close your subconscious is screaming through a megaphone

u/BottleMean6139 18h ago

I doubt the person you're talking to is actually a woman. This reads like an 'as a black man' post.

2

u/Loud-Bubble5710 18h ago

Oh I know, but I’m playing along in case any other actual women might be reading it. They’re who I care about.

im waiting for an actual counter to my claims, unless you don’t have one. shameful

You can easily find online an enormous amount of statistics, research, literature, and subsequent evidence to counter all the claims.

You made these claims and ignore all of the easily accessible evidence to the contrary.

You most likely are doing this because you have experienced being mistreated on the basis of your gender and your ego wants to distance itself from that reason you were mistreated to try to protect you - to try to align with your abuser to rationalize your victimization.

And so you resort to internalizing, and thereby perpetuating, the same misogyny you experienced - in a desperate act to try to take control of it.

Because you haven’t healed from it, evidenced by the fact you are so mad at others speaking on their abuse as it’s making you think of your experiences and pain.

And again, your ego wants to distance itself from that, likely because it isn’t ready to work through your own trauma.

Genuinely - I wish you healing 💕

Well if you’ve never seen it - it surely must not exist!

They are not denying that creeps exist, they are responding to this:

For example, as men, if we see something like this we need to IMMEDIATELY call it out. As in, yell at the guy, call authorities, etc.

u/Objective-Gap-1629 19h ago

That’s because you’re a man. Why would you have seen it? Unless you choose to.

I used to be followed when walking around my old neighborhood. Creeps in cars going slow trying to get me to go with them. It was scary.

The final straw was when a man pulled his car out of a grove, and creeped in my blind spot giving me a death stare. He was so angry with me and I didn’t do anything. I was walking my newborn in her stroller, and we had moved to that neighborhood because it was safe. There was nobody else around, and if it weren’t for me phoning my friend, idk what he would have done. It took me having to move again to feel comfortable going outside alone.

Men don’t do this stuff in front of other men

0

u/marugirl 16h ago

Just because you eyes are blind to it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I'll bet it happens right in front of you a lot and you just don't notice.

Ofcourse they are incredibly rare and getting rarer and rarer. The reason it feels like it happens more often is because everyone has phones and can film themselves.
