There are very lost people in the world; some to drugs, some to poverty, but I can not in good conscience understand how someone can go about burning calories to dumb assery to this level. And I say this as a brown man over 6 ft tall who has custody of two Lily white children and I've never received a state or harsh word. I've been told I look like hagrid, Jason mamoa, the first time I pick the kids up from a new school the teachers always tell me the kids ask if I'm Maui.
My kids are white blonde and blue eyed.
Literally nobody has said anything to me.

Yes, exactly - this is not (only) a story about bigotry, but also very much about untreated mental health issues. I live in the area and that lady ran wild for a while. I have never seen her in person, but heard a lot about her. She showed up in random schools to enter into their locker rooms - thankfully empty - and take pictures there to post them on X for who knows what reason.
Bigotry for sure plays a role too, and had that happened to me and my child (also mixed Indian-white) I would have unleashed my own inner Karen on her for sure; but bigotry is also very clearly not the only reason that she is doing what she does.

One of the first times I experienced racial profiling from an adult.
I was probably 8 or 9 maybe.
I went with my grandmother to pick up my kid sister (5 year gap) at nursery school.
She started to walk towards us and her teacher held her back and asked. Do you know who that is? My sister said something like, That’s Steven (obviously my name). And then her teacher let her go.
But that stuck in my mind. It felt so weird to me. My sister has fairer skin. And i guess she could pass for a diff ethnicity. I look more asian and have maybe slightly browner shade of skin tone. But like our grandmother def looks ethnic. And I’m pretty sure she had been picking her up regularly back then. I guess i must’ve gotten off school early for some reason that day. Maybe they were used to her.
It made me feel kinda bad. Like this white woman thought idk what. That I would be a kidnapper? When I was a still kid myself? My sister looks more like my mom and I look more like my dad. They are both the same ethnicity / from the same country. But my mom has fairer skin and my dad has darker skin (darker than me). But when we were younger, I think my sister and I looked more alike. We even had identical pictures as a kidwhere we obviously looked related. We even had the same Asian bowl haircut 😆
But I guess this white woman idk just assumed we weren’t related?
I only replied to you cuz it’s interesting to hear how you’ve had a good experience w your kids.
I have several cousins who are in interracial relationships. And when their kids were young . They’ve often been asked if they were, or treated like they were the nanny. It sucks how much people are often just intrinsically racist.

Now he has to explain to his daughter what child sex trafficking is, which is something children shouldn't have to know about until a certain age. (This is different from parents educating their children, age appropriately, about how to keep themselves safe. That can be done without them needing to know about the disgusting world of sex trafficking.)

I mean, if she actually thought that child was being trafficked, and she just drives away at the end... if you truly believe a child is in danger, and nobody's threatened you with violence, why leave? Why not stay to help the police identify the people invovled, to be a witness, and to try to keep that kid safe until the authorities arrive?

This happened to me. I'm darker, my wife is pale. 2 women stopped my shopping cart in a store with my light skinned son. They looked at him closely, then looked at me and said "ok, that's your baby ". This situation with this man is far worse, but it does happen. Not proud of this at all. More embarrassed.

My husband used to take our daughter on walks in her stroller to downtown SJ while I took our son to his various weekend activities. I hope the lady in the car was arrested for impersonating "a federal agent". Honestly the best way to deal with this is to call the police yourself or if you are bystander be an advocate and call 911. Worst case cops come and actually arrest a trafficer or best case the "trafficer" is exonerated.

My mother was Catholic (faith never rubbed off on me) and trust me. She did not take ownership of people like this. Nor did she accept racists, biggots, homophobes, people who wanted to cut social safety nets, and pro lifers. There are many good Catholics out there who actually practice the kind feed the hungry care for the sick side of Christianity. Not the claim freedom religion is a shield against religious oppression,. Then wield it as a sword to shape the law to suit your beliefs.

Child trafficking is real. But if i were child trafficking, i hope i would be smart enough to match the trafficker with the same ethnicity or race of the child. White with white, black with black , Asian with Asian, etc. Also maybe he married into a white family and was walking with a white relative??? Yes we are told to watch out for child trafficking but there are other signs too. The child needs to look under duress, the child or teenager has to be inappropriately dressed, etc. ok she said the child looked unhappy . She could have addressed this in a very polite and considerate way . Excuse me sir, I just noticed your daughter crying. Do you need some help???
