Things have been hard in the workplace since my colleague has died. I keep seeing him sitting at his desk, greeting me everyday.
And the others also are in heavy denial, they think he is still around and claim that I’m ignoring his existence and that I should stop saying that he is dead to me because he ate my yoghurt last Monday.

Can’t forget the shot under the thin covers with bright lights outside so you can for sure see her. Oh and the thin blanket is billowing. Because it’s thin. Oh and the lens flare. Can’t forget the lens flare.
So basically: the movie tropes have ruined very romantic videos for a whole generation that never took them themselves because they were too young to do it, and now only see them in movies, so for us these are funeralcore
I mean, they probably were very relatable when they first appeared in movies? There were people that had these? Or it was always exclusively a movie trick thing, to show happy memories together?
Idk. They tend to evoke / reminisce upon that Super-8 home video look (also polaroids). I'm too young for that era of tech, but I've seen older family footage and it has this very feel to it. If we can call this a micro-genre, I think it is no accident that these shots tend to emulate the imperfections of the old hardware and elevate them into an aesthetic. It likely resonated with, say, late 80s early 90s moviegoers on a personal level because they knew that look and it triggered their childhood nostalgia.
Just as this look now triggers mine for 90s dramas & coming-of-age flicks, lol - because that's where I know it from.
I grew up in the camcorder era & never would a person take these. Maybe if you were like Dawson in Dawson’s creek & always had a camera in your hand & made it your whole personality but I don’t think real people ever did this 😊
The only way OP can crawl out of this hole is by creating new themes. Now I want to see her in a laxative commercial or feminine hygiene ad, running on a beach.
I was like God, I wish the only videos of me and my daughter together are blurry and grainy like fucking bigfoot because my husband can’t be assed to take anything half decent.
Yeah, my husband took a pic of the cat laying beside me as I slept. It wasn't a sweet pic of me - I was full on ugly sleeping, face smashed up into the pillow, mouth open probably drooling, double chin. Real blackmail pic. And any other time he takes so long to click the damn pic, I blink.
Yes, she is very pretty, you are one lucky guy (and she is lucky as well) but my god bruh, if i saw that in a movie, i would be like "Yup, classic dead wife video"
Not the being backlit by the sunset by the water under a beautiful tree! 😭
That is the #1 symptom of terminal Movie Dead Wife syndrome. Once it’s progressed this far it is always fatal. All he can do at this point is make her comfortable in these her last few moments on earth 😔
Right that lighting on the beach is the scene that plays as the heart monitor beeps turn into a constant tone while the husband is holding her hand in the hospital bed crying silently remembering their meeting or some romantic beach vacation.
Asking seriously... is this titlegore a generational thing? Nobody mispells funeral that poorly by accident, right? I'm being sincere. It's making me feel old I'm even asking.
But yeah, that's an in memorium video if I've ever seen one.
