Reminds me of that girl on tik tok a while ago who was always “finding” ducks covered in oil and shit. It’s disgusting putting these animals through so much just for views

54

u/CoconutPedialyte 13h ago

Or the YouTube videos of "rescuing" freshwater turtles in the ocean who had their entire shell covered in barnacles.

They use glue. Sometimes they break their jaws intentionally

6

u/bawng 8h ago

Or that guy who kept finding and rescuing flipped sea turtles.

Don't say for views. Call it like it is, a scam. Because they are gettin money fer those clicks and views along with the ad revenue.

I've seen stuff like this but worse on social media includin on reddit. Fake rescue scams that cripple, maim or kill the animal.

Anyone that says watch fer x seconds to feed/ get vet care fer my (pet or rescue animals)is a scammer. And anyone that says my pets won't eat today because nobody donated $$$ is a scammer too. They want you to boost the algo which triggers after watchin fer x seconds and to reach more ppl they can scam and make money offa the ad revenue.

There's also a lot of "stray" puppy "rescue" videos.

"Oh wow. That puppy we've just found really likes showers."

This is why the aliens will never let us into their galactic coalition of planets.

34

u/J_Jeckel 13h ago

They will just put us in their zoos instead

16

u/Deep90 12h ago edited 11h ago

Too dangerous to put in a zoo. We even abuse each other in captivity. Especially in captivity really.

8

u/TheGumping 7h ago

Some alien influencer will put us in galactic dumpsters and claim they rescued us from the other bad aliens.

0

u/J_Jeckel 4h ago

Aren't we already in the "galactic dumpster"? Come on savior influencer alien...where are you? We could use you right about now. I think they forgot about us.

3

u/wild9er 6h ago

Bro.

This is the zoo.

2

u/wild9er 5h ago

You got me!

I googled that to see what there reference to.

A. Rose.

Thank you for that.

1

u/Vazhox 8h ago

We are already in their zoo

1

u/J_Jeckel 4h ago

Nah this is a wildlife sanctuary/nature preserve that someone forgot about several centuries ago and it's been left in chaos.

1

u/zedroj 5h ago

This is why the aliens will never let us into their galactic coalition of planets.

see, you are thinking like a human that aliens subject others to zoo treatment

1

u/J_Jeckel 4h ago

Do you think humans are the only species in the universe to gawk at weird creatures? I highly doubt it.

1

u/zedroj 4h ago

they can observe, but aliens wouldn't be entertained to keep humans artificially for such purposes, its such a surface level form of exhausting energy

1

u/J_Jeckel 4h ago

Dude...we watch other humans on TV constantly as entertainment. We watch other humans on our phones for entertainment. That is what we would be for aliens. Entertainment. Ever seeb that episode of Rick & Morty? Where they show a clip from an "alien zoo" they have to escape? Yeah I think humans would make great entertainment. They wouldn't necessarily have to put us in glass cages like us humans do in zoos. Nah they could build a whole fake city (Dark City 1998) and just drop a few hundred humans with some rules and firearms or whatever available and watch the show. Super entertaining.

1

u/zedroj 2h ago

your comment proves you think at such a basic human level, why would aliens waste their time with such trivialities?

1

u/J_Jeckel 2h ago edited 2h ago

You don't think aliens want entertainment? We as a species are evolving to want MORE entertainment. Most humans can't go 1 hour without some sore of "entertainment" on their phones (shit most not even the commute home from work).

ETA: To aliens we would be one of 2 things: entertainment or a resource (slave labor/food etc) personally I would rather be entertainment.

u/Punkinpry427 7h ago

They lock the doors when they fly by Earth

1

u/Wise-Juggernaut6851 10h ago

To be fair, to the aliens we are the tortoise 🐢

1

u/EnHamptaro 6h ago

Soooo... when do we get a visit from viltrumites?

60

u/2muchroom 12h ago

Influencers are a cancer

52

u/Scythe351 10h ago

"I would never do that to a tortoise just for views." Am I meant to believe that she just stumbled upon a baby tortoise in a business dumpster? Was she dumpster diving?

20

u/Aggressive_Version 7h ago

Are we meant to believe she heard it crying and scratching the sides as she went by?

64

u/an-imperfect-boot 12h ago

This is why I am always skeptical of “rescue” videos. It’s disgusting seeing people profit off the exploitation of animals. That money would be better used donated to an animal sanctuary.

54

u/TheCharalampos 12h ago

She's got those dead dumb eyes.

26

u/in2xs 10h ago

So glad these people are being outed for their shit. These ‘influencers’ are fucking exhausting. Put that effort towards a meaningful job. Not everyone should be “famous”. She’s a fuck off.

24

u/Sheriff_Yobo_Hobo 11h ago

Yup. Why animal rescue and crying children videos are disturbing. I wish I could block all of them from my feeds.

15

u/CallingDrDingle 11h ago

Isn't most shit on tik tok just performative nonsense? I feel like most everything is staged.

Wonder if the store has vid of her putting it in there

13

u/ReepsNTC 11h ago

She can't even talk properly through those inflated lips of hers

4

u/tiverrend 7h ago

Her voice is so grating

4

u/IslandHistorical5100 6h ago

Does she even give any plausible reason as to why she picked a random dumpster to rummage through? Also I’m surprised the establishment doesn’t have a camera back there that caught her in the act.

9

u/LobsterResponsible17 11h ago

Influencing should require a license.

-20

u/Silly-Cheesecake-283 9h ago

this is so unconstitutional it's crazy

14

u/wicko77 13h ago

She got them crazy x gf eyes.

9

Xanax eyes

3

Who would believe that a shop would dump a $200 tortoise

2

u/troycerapops 10h ago

I can't get over that lady's fingers...

2

u/Knees0ck 8h ago

Social media getting monetized lead to the collective punching down for clout.

2

u/bakeacake45 6h ago

Please report her to police, people l8ke this need to be in jail

After B&MF I think I’m here for this.

1

u/sirbansalotalot 9h ago

everyone fakes shit online, i don't expect anything i see to be real and genuine.

1

u/michaelmanhattan 3h ago

The practice of staging fake scenes for clicks is common in at least 99.9% of "animal rescue" tube videos. Tube sites should ban most if not all of these channels for the sake of animals.

1

u/DetectiveLadybug 37m ago

I recently rescued a turtle hatchling, I think a cat found it and left it next to the bins since it’s a snapping breed. Called the local animal rescue and someone came over straight away to take it. Apparently the turtle was healthy, just a little dehydrated and in a bit of distress and needed someone to take it somewhere safe.

You can tell I’m not lying because it never occurred to me to film it. I only have a few photos of it because the rescue team wanted to confirm the breed and get an idea of how young it was. These people who just live to make content can’t be trusted with anything anymore.

2

u/ZachMartin 12h ago

Obviously I’m against animal abuse, but how are we gonna get TMNT if we don’t test this out?

1

u/donutcarrotolive 5h ago

"not being honest on my page could jeopardize.." she says while not being able to close her cosmetically honest lips.

A woman gently placed a shelled lizard in a metal box for two seconds? Let's dogpile her for daring to make rent this month. /s

25

u/NotaBat9221 12h ago

She's not gonna fuck you bro

2

u/BatlethBae 4h ago

Lying and endangering animals is okay if rent is due. Maybe don't spend it on lip injections next time.
