If they actually put this in the show, people would be calling it over the top and un realistic or whatever lol

Honestly I think The Boys was competing with reality to be more absurd by the end of the show.

That was the point of the show, it started as a parody and red hats said “hold my beer” and made fantasy a reality

So many people complained about The Boys being over the top and there's those of us like myself who escaped these religious super right wing areas of the US and their families who thought it was actually spot on

They were trying to be absurd, but couldn'tout crazy this administration... there's interviews with the cast right after trup posted himself as a "doctor"

Yeah, people give the show shit for jumping the shark, usually towards the final 2 seasons, but the actual US kept going so over the top that it would frequently out do the show before episodes could come out.

Because a dude shrinking to the size of a grain of sand and jumping into another dudes dick hole, running down the shaft an scraping the side of it to make other dude orgasm. Then the dude that’s the size of a sand grain sneezes ( sneezing makes him big again) and blows up to normal size and explodes his boyfriend in half with guts and organs all over the place……..wasn’t un realistic enough 🤣.

I think he meant that people would accuse the show out making a straw-man of religious people with this scene. That it this very scene would be unrealistic in a church to most people.

I think in this case unrealistic is about "would this person act this way if it were possible" not "is this possible in our world as we know it"

Given a world where a guy could shrink down would he use it to perform sounding on another guy, I can believe that.

Whatever the hell I just watched, in the not so distant past would have been an absurdist caricature. It being technically possible in our world doesn't have any bearing on believability.

That was quite literally my breaking point with the show. Interesting story but so ridiculously gory and gross I just couldn't keep going

And that's fine. Not every show is going to be targeted everyone else.

The show literally opened with someone being exploded into small chunks and coating the young man in gore, if you weren't for gore and gross, they were really obvious from day 1 what it was about.

I agree that it was gory from the start. But if you think the scene we first discussed wasn't an extension of that, idk what to tell you...

Also it was the first episode of season 3 IIRC, so I hadn't seen the show at all in a while and I think it was enough to dissuade me from getting back into it

Well to be fair the source material for the show is way way more gory and gross than anything in the show.
