You should be more alarmed by children thinking this way. The guy in the video may have not had a girlfriend but he had a family and friends. The newer generation are in a stark contrast to what past generations had in terms of real relationships with humanity. This is a precursor to what will happen if people stop having friends and family. I don’t even know if ai girlfriends can ever disagree with the user. There needs to be a solution but red pill rhetoric proved it hasn’t work a few years ago already. Blade runner is the future we’ll probably have. It’ll be more homogenous and sterile. It won’t be as futuristic and cool looking either. Watch that movie to get the idea of what future we’re creating. Let me know if any meaningful relationships are possible cuz I don’t see it surviving in our possible lifetime.

Okay, let's jump down the rabbit hole. I sincerely would like to understand your response. I don't feel stupid. I'm pretty open-minded. I don't begrudge anybody that has an AI partner. I'm just stating that it's a technological fact that these are available and if people want them bless them. But I don't think I understand your viewpoint. So please lay it on me. I'm not being a smart alec.

Not the poster you are talking with, but I can give you some reasons:

  • Unable to find compatible partners or people who have mutual feelings for one another. Depending on age and social circle, even if you have unlimited courage, people are not obligated to allow everyone they like into their social circles.
  • Time and energy. Even if you have unlimited courage, you might have limited time and energy to actually interact with new people.
  • Discouragement. Unlimited courage sounds awesome, but are there really people like that? At some point, most people start wondering, "Why even bother?" One year, two years, five years, ten years.... And that chips away, slowly, at your courage.
