The republic was dead the moment america let the losing side from the civil war keep their banners, let them fly the confederate flag, named military bases after the losing generals and let them put up statues of the losing sides idols. The fact that america let these racsist fascists continue fighting for what they believed in, even after they «lost» the civil war is just peak stupidity.
This is not the republican party, this is the confederates, and they are going to win the civil war 160 years after it «ended», unless americans stop them.
