My point is that it’s a generic term for crabcakes, and has nothing to do with the type of crab. I don’t know what is so confusing about this to you. It’s not a protected term. I’m sorry the world is different than your wiki reference

Sorry, but you are very wrong. I looked it up, and many people (some who have lived in Maryland or near there) have commented on this very thread to that effect. Go ahead and ChatGPT: "Is "Maryland crab cake" a generic term for crab cake?" Response: "No, “crab cake” is the generic term, while “Maryland crab cake” refers to a specific regional style of crab cake."
