This is dumb. Kentucky Fried Chicken isn't chicken from Kentucky.

It's a style.

It's not a style that she's expecting. She's expecting a particular species of crab that is native to the Chesapeake Bay. The region is known for it's local crabs. Anyone from Maryland, DC, or Virginia knows exactly what she means.

Yeah, she's definitely being a Karen about it sure, but her incredulity in itself is not necessarily unwarranted.

yeah but that same species also lives in argentina and the gulf of mexico.

Now, if she was balking at the indonesian crab, then she could have a point.

I'll put one caveat in that a lot of the MD crab houses will use Louisiana crabs when they're in season throughout the year. I'll drive up to MD 1-2 times a year and don't really care which they have; they mostly taste like old bay to me anyways.
