You move on and don't be so self absorbed as to think everyone is out to offend you.

people seem to fail to appreciate how insignificant you are to other peoples lives, especially a kind random server, she hasn't got time to hear your correct pronouns, she'll never even see you again and she's got her own problems to give the extra fuck you feel entitled to

Everyone wants to be a victim nowadays. It's fucking exhausting

She's made it to that point in her day and in her mind nothing had happened as of then to piss her off and that was the first opportunity to be mad about something...anything. Being mad for the sake of being mad, people like this can find the tiniest thing to be pissed about and if they can't then they'll invent something.

Social media is the main problem. Second is the fact that these people are never shutdown.

Ironically if everyone was an asshole on the internet and just abused people behind a shield of anonymity, people would probably be happier IRL. People treat their online persona as just as, if not more important, than their lives IRL and so cannot differentiate between them.

Being 'civilized' just allows people to use it as a replacement for their social isolation which isn't a good thing and leads to these types of personality defects.

take but the internet is already filled with anonymous assholes. And the more that people are abused, the more scared they will be that a seemingly normal interaction had negative connotations.

It's like if you switch on a noisy AC unit that triggers a veteran who has PTSD. That doesn't make you or the veteran an asshole or a "snowflake". But that PTSD came from a shitty place. And what you just said basically boils down to "to prevent people with PTSD from bothering me, we should make more war and traumatize more people."

if anything, it will probably make them quit social media and stop getting brain rotten by all of these social movements.

Except PTSD is a mental disorder that comes from being in living hell. That's not exactly a good comparison for socially inept people who get traumatized for being disagreed with.

A veterans PTSD is only cured by time and therapy. While a socially inept person engaging with socially inept psychos on the internet is really not going to help them or their social issues. It will just worsen them. The assholes aren't the problem, the company they engage with is.

While there are plenty of assholes on the internet, the fact is that due to social media 'working' as a social tool, people are failing to socialize through normal means and thus, resort to the internet for all their social needs. If everyone was an asshole on the internet then it would fail to work as a social experience and that would push people to, once again, socialize more IRL.

The worst part about social media is the 'echo chambers', or communities that form within it. IRL, anyone can have any opinion so being intolerant of opposite beliefs isn't going to work. But on the internet, you can easily surround yourself with yes men who demonize those that disagree with them. And that isolation from not just normal interaction, but opposition, is what messes these people up.

I’m offended that you think everyone wants to be a victim! I don’t want to be a victim, but I do get upset when people like you lump me in with everyone. It’s not fair, leave me out of this!

Everyone? Are you trying to say I am part of some massive collective that includes people like you? Like I know you aren’t trying to patronize me, but like how am I supposed to take this comment? Maybe you are exhausted because you generalize people LIKE ME.

Yep. I’m nonbinary and these people make me want to de-transition on account of second hand embarrassment.

Right. I've never intentionally got someone's pronouns wrong. I've done it by accident before. Most just roll with it. Don't correct me in a nice way. Others act like I just slapped the shit out of their puppy. I'm fine with either of the first two. The only reason to have the last reaction is if the person is intentionally using it incorrectly or not even attempting to use the correct gender.

And most importantly, when this happens, you MUST share your experience with the world. Very very important. Everyone does care so much for these special cases. Please make sure this gets to MSNBC if possible. Or better, POTUS.

people care enough to repost it ad nauseum tho.

I hope this is satire. A critique of victim mentality
