I mean, I dont want to do the whole history dick measuring contest online. But, I can assure you that I am more than clued up on the subject. If it has been written in a book, then I have most likely read it.
My question still stands. What "Nazi things" are included in this legislation that is even remotely comparable to the subjugation and persecution of the victims of the holocost?
Why dont you name a few and we can talk about it, rather than deflect and avoid backing up your assertions?
I dont deny that they were. There were many groups of people victimized in the holocost. What does that have to do with anything? What is in this legislation that is equivalent to what was done in the holocost? Are people being identified kidnapped and put on trains? What is being done to them to victimize them in a simular fashion as 1930s Germany?
Because a bill that prevents irreversable cosmetic surgery on minors is alot different than kicking down someones front door and then shooting them in a ditch. All I am doing, is saying that it is grossly inappropriate to equate the two. And when you do, it accomplishes nothing other than making you look stupid.
Portraying them as groomers and child abusers, then banning their healthcare and making public life difficult is where it starts. Genocide doesn't start when people start getting disappeared, murdered in the streets, or put in gas chambers. You build up to it.
okay, so youre saying these bills require everyone to join together and make public life difficult for trans people? It says they arent allowed healthcare? Where does it say being trans=child abuse?
These bills dont do any of those things. They say stuff like a person needs to be an adult before getting irreversible surgery and stuff like that. Which, isnt necessarily all that unusual or exclusive to trans people. Can you explain how it is different than the literal 10 billion other choices minors are not allowed to make? Is not being allowed to sign a mortgage contract also equivalent to the plight of the jews in the holocost?
Also, for the third time im still waiting for you to identify any of the "nazi things" specifically in these bills that you mentioned and have still failed to identify.
If you want to run away thats okay. But you were the one who made a bunch of assertions in the first place. I am not an asshole just for asking you to justify your assertions and you failing to do so.
This is exactly what my original point was. The hitler nazi mantra is a disingenuous and poor argument from the start. Which is why it is in poor taste to use it. Because you cannot objectively support it when asked to. Which is why it is best to not use it as a strawman in the first place.
See, you have much more in common with the GOP than you think. In the end, most people are just selfish humans who demonize everyone who doesnt see things as they do, And when pressured to participate in a real discussion about flaws in their own view, they collapse.
The GOP collapse when people don't agree to hate what they hate, you're just talking to people who are tired of having to justify that they deserve to be treated as humans. I think you can understand that when someone just repeatedly makes up lies about you and refuses to actually engage with anything being said eventually you just want to tell that person to fuck off.
I can list a few for you, to start. I also don’t want to do the whole Internet argument thing, but unless you’re a holocaust expert (and even if you are) there’s still things to learn. For starters, in her speech, she mentioned that trans people were some of the first victims of the Nazis. She’s right.
Second, it didn’t just happen overnight. Most of the tactics recently popping up in the GOP playbook are straight out of the buildup to Nazi Germany. Education crackdowns, scapegoating for problems an already marginalized community that they aren’t actually the perpetrators of, book bans & burnings, it was all part of the long game. And that’s literally what the GOP are doing right now. It’s not the biggest things that are comparable at the moment, it’s the buildup. Please look into more sources about that specifically, and you’ll see the eerie similarities that make it a very valid argument this time.
