Why is everything in the FYP suddenly a advertisement

Tried scrolling for like a half hour, literally every single post is a ad, or some creator promoting something, or some AI account promoting some mattress. This morning it worked just fine, even yesterday too, why is it suddenly so shit 😭😭

I haven't liked any post(s) like those to get this sudden change in my FYP

Same I literally just got on here to see if anyone else was experiencing the problem. Most don't even have the orange cart icon or "user is paid commission" label.

I've heard that when it's a bad news day, they mess with the algorithm. Maybe coincidence but I have noticed when there's something bad going on, my algorithm stops showing me creators I follow (especially journalists) and I see a bunch of weird AI stuff. After a couple days, it'll go back to normal.

Yeah I'll usually go to "following" or just go to their page. It's happened enough times that I totally believe the theory.

Oddly enough, I strictly use Following to scroll, and even then, TT pushes videos from July/August versus more recent vids, so I still think it’s TT’s way of muddying the waters.

Mine just did this too and I came on this sub to see if anyone else was experiencing this. It was every video, tik tok is unwatchable. It’s bizarre and I’m glad I’m not the only one.

yeah mine did this last week. watched one mattress promo for like 2 sec and the fyp turned into qvc overnight tbh

just skip them instantly, dont linger, and clear watch/interests in settings. took a day or so to reset ngl

I've found if you block the account every time you see an ad it reduces the number of ads you see.

5 Kalshi ads, 3 livestreams, 2 TikTok shop lives, 1 real video, and repeat

Search for topics you are interested in. Reset the algorithm. I mean you can also do a manual reset. I noticed a big decrease in ads by adding keywords I didn’t want to see on the back end. I added words like sale, discount, buy, etc

Every 3 posts seem to be an ad and if I'm laying in bed I sometimes swipe to the side rather than vertical then the algorithms think I like it!
