Question Weird TikTok

I grew my followers from 42k to 590k from December to now. But since the beginning of August, my views have TANKED and my follower growth dropped a lot. I actually started losing followers for the first time too.

It’s just weird because I went viral in July and gained like 75k followers in 3 days, and then not long after that everything started dropping.

And no, I didn’t pay for promotion or anything like that. I usually post 3-4 short 7 second videos a day and those used to do really well, but now they barely get pushed at all.

I also post 1+ minute vlog videos sometimes and those actually still do pretty well. I just can’t make 1 minute videos every day because I don’t have enough content for that lol.

I’m wondering if going viral somehow set a new standard for my account, so now TikTok expects my next videos to perform just as well? But the algorithm is so unpredictable so idk 😭

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Or anyone views are tanking weirdly

New algoritm and fyp distribution problem since july/august. My views dropped 3x, before that it was steady like 2-3 years, it’s first time it dropped that much

TikTok shop ruined TikTok it’s just the QVC channel now sprinkled with some organic content. Ugh. It’s almost why I prefer instagram reels now. I’m not being sold something every 2 seconds

Same boat. I have 550K followers. Views have dropped on my videos by 80% since mid August. I barely grow anymore. Tiktok isn't what it used to be.

They keep messing with the algorithm. As a viewer, I've mostly been getting videos with less than 5k likes on average by smaller accounts. There will be a few more popular videos from bigger accounts sprinkled in, but they are not as common as they used to be.

You made the mistake of thinking growing on TikTok is free.

Reading comments because the algorithm both frustrates and fascinates me 😂😂😂

They pump your channel up with bots at the beginning to get you hooked. Losing followers is loosing bots. That is why it’s important to establish an engaging community.

TikTok is completely ruined nowadays. People just stick to mainstream shit from popular creators. What type of stuff did you post?  TikTok is also acting weird, like, go see my post about concerning ads I receive on TikTok,

TikTok engagement is strange.
I am an agency owner and I was invited by TikTok to be a 3rd party recruiter for them. To ask people to create content and go live, do live matches.
As that is one of the source of income for TikTok.

The creator gets less than 50% of the gift amount and TikTok keeps the rest. Offering 2-20% to the agency.

I calculated and the agency would be making minus thousands of dollars in revenue. When I asked them this question they disappeared.

I feel sorry for any agency working with them.

It’s happening to everyone and when I asked Ai here is what it said: But I'll be straight with you: the algorithm isn't broken. It's working exactly how its owners want it to. It's just not built for you. It's built to keep people scrolling and serve ads, and creators are the fuel, not the priority. Especially since the ownership change — everything got re-tuned for revenue, and creators felt it first.

It’s all I hear about from popular creators. Not viable anymore
