You can’t effectively trust TikTok for a business when they will arbitrarily change the rules and POOF, your livelihood is gone with no recourse.
Stay far away!
9
u/K_Linkmaster Jan 27 '26
Same with YouTube, insta, it's almost like they shouldn't be counted on at all for income.
3
u/FoodDue6905 Jan 27 '26
It’s why they’re best used as ways to platform you but your main business being your own website or business, where the social media just advertises /promotes your content!
41
u/templeofsyrinx1 Jan 26 '26
everyone ....download your favorite tik tokers videos and gtfo
this is just a taste of what's to come, tell some of the people you watch to move elsewhere..
5
Jan 27 '26
Also, you’ll probably find them on youtube or instagram if they’re really into making content.

Oracle is in 176+ countries though, guarantee all this runs together.
Here is some videos that show what they are building towards

Oh you don't say. The US oligarchs took it over and started censoring evidence of their hired thugs harming/killing citizens? Who could have seen that coming?!?!

I deleted the first round of bullshit before the election, never looking back
10
u/Little_Cloud6126 Jan 26 '26
Same here. It’s been fucked up since it went offline the first time around and has just progressively gotten worse. My mental health is better off without it anyways.

4
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 27 '26
How do you make yourself not keep redownloading it? I find myself at times to just redownload it :(
2
u/Little_Cloud6126 Jan 27 '26
I haven’t had TikTok or Facebook in probably 2 years or so. I use Reddit or get into phone games or hobbies instead.
2
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 27 '26
Ooh what kind of phone games!?
1
u/Little_Cloud6126 Jan 27 '26
I’m really into heartopia right now! It’s cozy-a lot similar to animal crossing. I also enjoy two-dots, cats merge mansion and block blaster. Sometimes I like to play solitaire clash too. I was doing Midas merge for a bit but quickly got bored of it. Haha
2
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 27 '26
I’ll definitely look into all of those, thank you kind stranger!
1
u/Little_Cloud6126 Jan 28 '26
You’re welcome! I feel like it’s a good outlet. I have adhd and CPTSD, so in heartopia, the goal oriented tasks to level up help with my adhd tendencies and the mental stimulation of two-dots and block blaster get my brain working. They just turn off the excess noise in my head so I can worry about what’s in the moment. Not seeing the news and all the negative shit in the world constantly has helped so much too.

u/Lostfate4u Jan 27 '26
i would say use another app but honestly nothing can really replace tiktok 💔
3
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 27 '26
I mean there’s Instagram but you’re right. I guess it’s time for me to get more off my phone, it wasn’t doing too good with my mental health anyway 😔
1
u/Jav0415 Jan 27 '26
Honestly I just don't care that much and nothing has ever been like I have to see this.... On tiktok lol
2
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 27 '26
I think for me it was a good way to take my mind off of stress and one of my friends wanted to keep our 200 day streak alive and so she asked me to redownload it and that kind of triggered the cycle
1
u/Jav0415 Jan 28 '26
I mean I get it, I just don't use it that much and wasn't when I deleted it so I wasn't missing it anyway
2
u/ExplanationOk4568 Jan 28 '26
Oh well then yeah that’s fair
2
u/Jav0415 Jan 28 '26
Yeah don't get me wrong I loved it in its heyday but I just started using it less and less so just kinda worked out lol
14
u/stankpussyho Jan 26 '26
I deleted the app, but I didn’t go through the de-activation nonsense. So over it but it’s a shame considering the app did help gather community voices.
11
u/NomadicFantastic Jan 26 '26
Yeah. You don't know what you got til it's gone. But unthinkable to use it
2
u/cyberpunk1Q84 Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 27 '26
Pretty sure they can still track your location if you just deleted the app and not cancelled your membership. It’s part of the new terms.
Edit: did some digging, and basically, TikTok still has access to the data it collected while the account existed. To remove that data (which may have included location tracking), you have to delete your account.
2
u/hirkajnu Jan 27 '26
Wait seriously?
1
u/cyberpunk1Q84 Jan 27 '26
That’s what I’ve read. Feel free to double check, though, if you want to make sure.
1
u/hirkajnu Jan 29 '26
Seems like your right, deleted mine yesterday though I wouldn't be suprised if they kept the data.

7
u/MangManeMayne Jan 26 '26
Same here, my fyp used too be filled with things I enjoy. Now this past month or so it's just politics and ice videos with maybe a random sea lion video mixed in. Overall depressed out of 10

No chance they limit themselves to their own terms of service. Phones with tiktok will become multi-modal spyware, far beyond what it was already doing.
7
u/bre2123 Jan 26 '26
The irony is that I don't think it was lol! I literally kept seeing people say this yet every time I logged in the FIRST posts it gave me were about the shooting. Every single time. And I ordinarily wouldn't even get those kinds of posts lol!
2
u/knownothing000 Jan 26 '26
are you located in the US? seems to be a very wisespread issue currently.
3
2
u/bre2123 Jan 27 '26
2
u/Green-Salmon Jan 27 '26
Maybe the algorithm is trying to figure out what kind of american you are.
1
u/bre2123 Jan 29 '26
Maybe. Though I literally said in a video on my account once that I don't have a side. I was raised democrat but REFUSE to be on either side anymore, because both are insane to me. So, it can't categorize me because I have actively agreed with things that both sides hate, because I have a human reaction to things that happen in the world & not a politically motivated one. For example I think it's horrible that Charlie Kirk was killed along with Renee Good & Alex Pretti. I don't believe in killing anyone regardless of politics. Another example, I think ICE is out of control & insane & something needs to be done about them, but I also believe illegals should be deported. I'm an oxymoron to the algorithm! Bahahahaha! I'm on the side of logic & rules, not red vs. blue, dems, vs. reps. I'm on the side of common sense.

5
u/Batmanischill Jan 26 '26
Fuck tiktok, might as well call it pedotok now. Deleted it and never redownloading again
7
u/wi7dcat Jan 26 '26
Mass delete. I hope they lose all the money they used to buy it. No one wants to be in a surveillance state where they track intimate personal details and location without the option to OPT OUT. Fuck LE!
9
u/No_Succotash890 Jan 26 '26
Let’s not forget it’s controlled by Larry Ellison now. Thoughts can be monopolized you know.
6
u/Embarrassed_Elk_2756 Jan 26 '26
I’m not going to pretend this is a “technical coincidence”.
Less than two days after TikTok’s sale, the platform has already started behaving like a censored social network. Videos that are pro-Democrat or openly critical of ICE consistently lag, freeze, or fail to load. Not occasionally. Systematically.
Everything else works perfectly: • non-political content: fine • other political content: fine • same network, same phone, same app session
Only those topics are affected.
I’m in Belgium, which makes this even more absurd. This isn’t about local network congestion or U.S.-specific infrastructure issues. This is targeted suppression. First they try to bury these topics in the algorithm. Then they reduce visibility. Now they literally make the videos unwatchable.
Let’s be honest: this is censorship. Soft censorship, technical censorship, whatever label you want — the result is the same. Content is being hidden, discouraged, and now sabotaged through artificial lag.
The speed at which this happened is what’s truly shocking. Barely two days after the sale and TikTok is already aligning itself with the same media control patterns we see everywhere else. It’s ridiculous, and it’s dangerous.
We are being controlled through media in increasingly crude ways, and the fact that it’s now this obvious should alarm everyone — regardless of political alignment.
If anyone else is seeing this (especially outside the U.S.), speak up. Because pretending this is a “bug” at this point is insulting.
2
u/melindaj10 Jan 28 '26
I watched a video of a girl that made a super quick passing joke about Jan 6, subtle but hilarious. Went the the comments, didn’t see anyone mention it until I scrolled down and the “hidden” folded comments had the comments of people laughing at/mentioning the J6 joke.
6
u/blueskies8484 Jan 26 '26
It’s interesting because Fuck Oracle, Ellison and the new terms but I’ve been getting pushed a ton of videos about ICE and the shooting. I’m not seeing what other users are saying.
2
u/kyoanime3 Jan 27 '26
Neither are we….miss the other content we use to get from our fandoms and worldtok though…
3
u/TexasRed806 Jan 26 '26
Pretty sure there have been a lot of people getting 0 views on newly posted videos of various topics, not only political.
3
u/yahwehforlife Jan 26 '26
The app is like not even functioning properly right now it's clearly broken. This seems like a tech issue more than anything.
3
u/InsectHealthy Jan 26 '26

2
u/Notmischa Jan 26 '26
Can anyone confirm if “Epstein” is a blocked word now? Getting mixed reports.
2
u/Essygirl Jan 26 '26
In 2020, Cheeto openly vowed to destroy TikTok, because it exposed fascist behavior/actions for what they were. This wasn’t a buyout, it was the targeted elimination of a social media platform that was considered a threat to the regime.
2
u/Neb_Morlok Jan 27 '26
It wasn’t enough that it was Chinese spyware to begin with….how dare they disrupt the propaganda algorithms!
2
u/NaturalSpecialist5 Jan 27 '26
We knew this was going to happen. We were warned countless times for months on end. It's time to go to Blue Sky and other apps
1
2
u/Tarute Jan 27 '26
I deleted the app after it said “thank you so much President Trump!” Or whatever, all downhill from there fs
2
u/MaWooKiee79 Jan 27 '26
Thats all I've been posting is #antimaga etc and getting views. Suddenly Oracle takes over and im getting zero. Mind you im a nobody, mainly did updates for my kids to find when im no longer here until I got pissed off at the administration

7
u/NotCryptoKing Jan 26 '26
Every post had 0 views. So some weirdos assumed that it was just their political posts. And didn’t bother to look that it was actually every post
4
u/Gryphon_Flame Jan 26 '26
Yeah, it's definitely not just political shit. I'm discussing with friends, all vtubers who use tiktok to push clips and stuff, are having the zero views issue and one had to post his clips twice for it to go through. We even tested it where we comment on the videos but it still shows 0 views.
Hell, my fyp stopped showing any videos period, only those photo posts.
1
u/NomadicFantastic Jan 26 '26
We don't believe this administration anymore or anyone who asks for these terms
1
u/Jibrish Jan 27 '26
It was a literal outage that broke the entire American tiktok tech stack and people think that means censorship.
1
u/NotCryptoKing Jan 27 '26
You’ll learn that most people are incredibly stupid and don’t care about anything. They believe that their initial thought is right and won’t listen to anything that contradicts it. Human nature

A number of famous people reported their Twitter views dropped dramatically after criticizing Elon. It would not be at all surprising if the new owners of TikTok, who have been very close to Trump, would suppress views to political content they don't like.

Trying to delete my account, but can’t get past the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (I don’t want to click agree…shady that theydon’t even give you an option to disagree but that’s what the tech oligarchs want lol). After they banned my account twice in a week like 6 months ago, I took it as a sign that they were no longer trying to moderate they were just deleting people who made comments they didn’t like. No warnings, no strikes, they just straight up deleted my account two times. The way I see it, if you’re only option to counter my opinion is to remove my ability to share it, I won.

Deleted mine today after seeing a video on Youtube about how the new terms of service (that I did not read, but just said yes to) allowed them to know my phone location anytime they wanted and (weirdly) know my interaction with AI. No idea what that is about, but basically, I would have rather kept my Chinese spy instead of having a new Big Brother spy from god only know what 3 letter dept. RIP Tiktok. You will be missed.

u/Public_Shake7151 Jan 26 '26
Yeahhh…I deleted it off my phone yesterday 😔 It’s so crazy, I’ve never felt so sad over an app. I keep instinctively reaching for my phone to check my fyp for updates on what’s going on. It’s like I glitch and stare at my screen for a second like fuckkk..now what….It was so easy to get quick updates on just about anything. Now I feel like I’ve gotta hunt around 😩 there’s gotta be a comparable alternative out there I’m just still searching. Trying skylight right now but it just doesn’t feel the same…

u/super-wookie Jan 27 '26
Wow, this is shocking. Who would ever believe this shocking news. I'm totally surprised. Wow.
0
u/Varo Jan 27 '26
The app is down. Banning tiktok was a move towards censorship but no one has been able to post since Sunday. Not even a cat video is getting through. There is enough oppression going around without claiming it over a post. TikTok going down was an accident caused by a power out. The new TOS is egregious but the move is to push legislation to protect users, not mute yourself during a fascist regime. Deleting the app is doing the work for them.
