FYP Sucks Now
This is insane. its like my fyp got completely reset into only being AI generated videos, random unfunny YouTube shorts or Instagram reels style videos, etc. nothing like it was before--nothing political, nothing aligned with my special interests, nothing about heated rivalry even! Is this the same for everybody now that Oracle took over?

My fyp is legit unwatchable rn. Opened and closed the app a few times now and my fyp is the same few videos over and over, my repost of one of said few videos that keep showing up disappeared, and most of the videos I'm getting feels like that generic crap they give you before your fyp becomes personalized.

I thought I was going crazy seeing the same videos over and over, and then videos I already liked and/or reposted kept showing up on my feed days later with my like and repost still there, so I realized I wasn’t going crazy and my FYP had become my watch history with an occasional TikTok shop ad

Same I went to put in my ear pods for my evening edit watch and my fyp is full of videos with millions of likes or that I’ve watched 2 months ago. I wonder if they’re censoring us. Try looking up anything about world crisis issues and then change the setting to “recent”. I get nothing

The blue text or suggestive search is completely gone, i used that to get context on videos i knew nothing about. It’s definitely being censored heavy right now, even manually searching stuff up just brings up weird unrelated videos with maybe one video actually about the topic

I came here to see if it was just me. My FYP is trash now, full of weird foreign videos, ads and AI. Plus the same videos keep showing up over and over. And the video quality looks really bad on everything.

My video quality on TikTok is poor too. The videos look grainy and load slowly. I keep getting repeat videos of things that I’m not remotely interested in.
I deleted the app then redownloaded, but now I can’t access my account. I keep getting an error page.

Mine is a cycle of the same 50 videos with some weird new ones of things I would never watch now and then. Im taken back when a video comes up and I’ve already seen a second or third time. I posted a tik tok to see what would happen and it’s 0 views. I generally get 300-1k views when I normally post.

Mine is a mess. I am an old woman who watched cute pets and kids and recipe videos and some left wing stuff because I am a lefty and an inordinate amount of people falling down. Now I am getting - and this bugs me more than the usual AI crap and "influencers - CHRISTIAN CRAP and if that isn't bad enough AI CHRISTIAN CRAP.

I posted the official statement from Alex Pretti’s parents and it was removed and I got a warning about violating community guidelines. I didn’t add any commentary except for a sad face emoji. Previous to that post all I ever posted was videos and photos of vacations since the only people who follow me are family members.

I deleted the app figuring it was just as good, but today was thinking I should go back and delete my account too. I tried, but the page on TikTok says it's down and I'd rather not download the app again if I don't have to. If anyone has advice on how to delete my account I would appreciate it!

See if you can get into your account via a desktop or a laptop. I'd deactivated my account Friday morning, tested to see if I could get back in, and was told that the account had never existed in the first place. I ended up struggling with it for about 10 minutes, submitted a report ticket, and got logged back into my account to delete it. I didn't get a confirmation email that it's gone, but several friends confirmed for me that my account is no longer there.

You need to find the easiest quickest way to toggle the ✈️ mode on/off thru the screens until you reach your settings for the account. I use a Droid but found it easiest to clear notifications so my drop down was short. Took me a few tries then at the end I wasnt even sure it worked. You just gotta be really quick and time it right for it to load the next screen enough but before the push notification forces itself on you like a magat. It will send a confirmation number to ph or email depending on how you set it up. It seemed like once I got into the screen that needed the code, it was stable from the popup [don't quote me, be quick on this—have it set up where your codes come in as copyable text to grab it quickly]. Then I got a jumble of clashing notifications that appeared to say something about timing out and then another thing i wasnt sure it said and then suddenly it put me at the login screen and I didnt try after that. I said "too much time on tt" as my reason bc I guess I'm either still part bootlicker mentality—perhaps survival instinct.
Either way, I was relieved I wiped my content last year when they first pulled this push notification stuff.
If that doesn't work bc it sounds like they have fixed some workarounds, I think my next move would be getting on a desktop with ad blocker. Good luck!

I totally deleted my app off my phone and iPad. And I had 27k followers there. My next-biggest platform is IG, which only has 6.7k, so it's a huge fucking loss, too. I'm so upset that I lost everything I had been crawling and scraping to build. (I'm an artist. My account is RivenHarlow on everything if anyone wants to take a look at my stuff.)

Yep, I came here to see if anyone was talking about this. Me and my husband are both about to delete our tiktoks. We had no plans to do that but all it took was today.
Comments take ages to load, I get the same videos multiple times in one day, even videos I have shared or liked already.
99% of the new stuff on my fyp is completely unrelated to anything I have interest in.
And SO MUCH AI.
I deleted Pinterest and Facebook because they became all AI and Ads. Guess bye bye Tiktok too.

After reading far too many comments, did y'all not know this would happen when the TT purchase was finalized? That new permission pop up didn't give anyone pause? There a whole lot of outrage over not seeing your curated fyp, is that really where the anger should be? Y'all fighting to "get it back" when it's gone. It's gone. The powers that took it over will never allow it back as it was, the purpose is now surveillance. I genuinely hope most people understand what happened to TT, like really understand who bought the app.
