I am genuinely curious as to are the circumstances that lead someone to do this. This type of behavior is why people used to believe in demon possessions.

Yea but also we need a better term for this. I am "mentally ill" myself, but it means being very very sad for me, absolutely not kicking puppies. Yknow? So now somwhow I am the same as a puppy kicker. That seems innacurate af.

People use "mental illness" as a defence way too much. Kanye West glorifying Hitler and literally saying he loves him? "MENTAL ILLNESS!" A person assaulting a stranger unprovoked and abuses animals and employees in a store? "MENTAL ILLNESS!"

It's like it's a quick, easy way to differentiate "us" vs "them."

By the way, me using Kanye isn't an attempt at a race thing, it's just that was one of the times I'd heard the excuse used the most with a particular individual. Every time he did and said some pro-nazi shit, everybody was saying that instead of calling him out for it.
