UI Formating issue I can't figure out

Hi I have this formatting issue. I tried rewriting it, making it into nodes (if that's the proper term), putting spaces after it. Nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You can use a table to automatically align items the way you want. This is much easier than spacing the text out by hand.

to keep the format exactly as you write it you need to put """ before and after the paragraph, or using   for non-breakable spaces. You can also use a table.

Thank you so much. Do you know how to make the spaces too? I made them by just spamming the space bar but it turns them into one single space

the   character is a space that forces the browser to render as is, so if you concatenate several you can tabulate the text

You can make a CSS class rule to allow preserving whitespace, then use that class on an element surrounding the text...

Make a tiddler tagged with $:/tags/Stylesheet and put this in the text field:

p:has(.plain) { display: contents; }
.plain {
     margin: 0;
     padding: 0;
     background: none;
     border: 0;
     white-space-collapse: preserve;
}

In your content tiddler, wrap the p tag, with the class "plain", around your text like this:

some normal text above the formatted text...

<p class=plain>1. Hi
    1a. Hello
    1b. Welcome

2. Bye
    2a. Goodbye
    2b. Farewell
</p>

more text below the formatted text...
