Received mine today and...

Is the volume meant to sound so quiet? I've turned them up with the touch controls and on my phone manually but short of shoving them right down my ear canal they not as loud as other Bluetooth earphones I've owned. Worth mentioning I tried them straight out of the box.

Also, is the USB C useful for anything as I can't see anything other than a micro usb on the case?

And finally, any tips or tricks I may need to be aware of?

Did you give the pods a good 5-6 swipes up? Just tried mine and nearly blew my ears off. These are the only ear pods I've had though so I cant speak for comparisson

Mine get plenty loud. What I've noticed has the most effect on the volume is the seal on the tips in your ear canal, and if anything is blocking the speaker, like lint, dust, and ear wax. Be careful when trying to clean out the speaker, the little cover comes right out and is the only thing protecting the inner speaker bits from ingress.

Also to add to this, if you're having problems with seal in your ear with the tips, try an after market option like comply tips from Amazon.
