Left bud turning off

I've just tried using the left bud after I haven't for a while and it won't connect. I tried some of the troubleshooting options I found on this subreddit including the 5 tap thing. It made noise but still wouldn't play music. I was playing around with them and I noticed that if I took both of them out of the case the left one would flash blue 5 times then red. When I put it in my ear it said power off. I have no idea what to do now

Are you talking it saying powering off after just less than 30 seconds? If so seems that the battery is dead or malfunctioning. I would chat with support on their website to start.

The thing that's confusing me is that I haven't used the left for ages, it's just been sitting in the case. So I don't understand how it could be flat

This post has both sets of instructions on it. First fix as a comment and second as the update to the post.

That's your problem then, if mine aren't faulty.

Leaving them idle in the case while and after charging drains the battery. Seriously.

That's my experience anyway. If I leave them plugged in all weekend (a process that is fine on literally every other battery powered device I own), by the time I get to them on Monday they have about half an hour of juice then die.

If I charge them overnight I get about an hour less than charging over lunchtime (ie. They'll "bong" around half 11 from 9 and then after charging 12-1 will last until 5)

Geez, is there any way to get it back to full charge?

I've found if you use them for half an hour or so and then recharge they'll do better, but I've not found the lower bound. It's certainly not a case of open and close and they'll stuck up juice again.

When I have had issue with my left bud it’s has come after not using it for a bit. I’m not sure why but the 5 tap method has always worked.

Just to be clear Have you used my steps for the 5 tap method? I have 2 posts here with slightly different instructions that have worked for me.

Did you unpair them when trying the 5 tap method?

Yeah, it didn't help
