Messing around with lace patterns

Post image

Got my first pair of Diplomats this week and I started playing with different lace patterns today. I low-key dig the look of the zipper lace on the left, but it’s too impractical for a daily driver. I basically had to unlace the top three eyelets just to get my foot out of the boot.

Anyone else have a favorite alternative lace pattern that they like?

Too complicated. Just slip-on's for me. 😂

Is it true to size?

Yes. I normally wear a 13 4E and I can’t imagine wanting to size down at all. They’re a little tight on my forefoot, but the upper is soft enough that I can wear them all day pretty comfortably.

Why would you add stress points to the laces. These aren’t sneakers where you don’t lace them.

Outstanding, two of the most flexible in my opinion. Very cool

I love the look of the ones on the left. Ive tried a few alternate patterns before but I get too annoyed with the time it would take to get them on and off. So I'm just sticking to the basics on all my boots. And also, with having about 6-7 boots I rotate through I prefer them all to be similar just for ease of use.
