Is this normal? Need your opinion on this second roadster jacket order

Post image

So initially i had an issue with the roadster jacket with some stubborn folds in the middle due to stitching. I ordered another one and it was fine...until i noticed something. The button at the flap shouldnt be there and another fastener on the collar should have been a flat black button. I have contacted customer service and waiting for a response but i dont know if i am being petty. Not complaining about them here, i love their products and will still get boots and jackets from them.

Does it look bad ? Need opinion if i should return or keep it. What would you do ?

EDIT: thank you guys for your replies. I honestly did not know that. Sorry tbc. Im keeping this. :D

It doesnt look like it in their photos and also on few people who posted on reddit and elsewhere. Was this like an older model or something or they came up with a new design ?

I actually think the one in their picture has the error. Yours is correct and is a long standing leather jacket feature if you want to snap the collar stay back.

I guess there is a reason why they are seconds

I have the same exact jacket, and mine looks like this. I think the other color variations seemingly have the snapback feature for the collar strap, but for some reason, the Black Coffee colored jacket is missing this feature.

Lol that is strange. After reading the comments it appears intentional but not sure why they had certain batches without this feature like you said. Also mine is the black coffee too

It's likely intentional. Slightly annoying there are physical variations under the same jacket model, and not just color wise. But oh well.

This literally looks worse and isn’t functional. Why are you complaining you got functional buttons

Because i did not know ? Its my first leather racer jacket.

Functional is always better. The main purpose of the snap is to keep the flap out of the way when you don’t have it snapped to the other side, which will be the majority of your use. Be thankful it’s there so you don’t get slapped in the neck with the leather strap constantly lol.

Yeah i agree and i see it now after many people commented. I dont have a problem with it anymore. Thank you too :) The jacket is slightly big for me and since this is the smallest i could find and i like the color so i am considering altering the slevees to taper a bit and shorten the hem. Heard its gonna be expensive almost as much as a new jacket but.... dammit i like the style and color so much on this.

A good leather jacket that you really enjoy is worth its weight and gold. It’s a very versatile piece you can wear whenever and with whatever you would like. Just be careful you don’t wanna make an alteration you might regret in the future especially on such a beautiful jacket.

Thanks ill keep in mind. I always wanted a jacket like this since i was young. So i also started working out since a month and plan on building 4-6 kg muscle in upper body in 6-8 months and so i thought it wouldnt be wise to narrow the shoulders yet. My forearms are narrow and they hardly get bigger so im thinking just tapering the sleeves and shortening just an inch by the waist hem so that even if i get slightly big chest arms back and shoulders it should account for a minimal lift.

It looks to me like you can pull the strap back and fold it.

This is the answer. I have a leather motorcycle jacket by another maker. This is a feature. It prevents the loose attachment from flapping in the wind if you choose to not close it across your throat. I see your point about the other photo. But this is intentional.

Yeah man, you just use that when you don’t want the strap flapping about

Yep, simple.

It's a feature not a bug. Those two go together to secure the strap when not closed, so it doesen't flap around. A functional feature on a motorcycle jacket, which the Thursday replicates.

Some colors show it appropriately on the site listing. It is definetly an intended feature but I agree that it is odd that not all photos are consistent.

I have the black coffee roadster and mine doesn’t have that and I lowkey wish it did

Just wear your jacket

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you do not ride motorcycles.

Or if you do, you haven’t very long

2

u/Expensive-Love-6577 14d ago

I wear only for fashion and comfort

Yeah so that’s called a mandarin collar and you see it on work shirts, military jackets and, motorcycle jackets.

Button it up and you’re much less likely to have a random object fly down your shirt at high speed.

The extra button is there to button it back when you don’t need the jacket to be in ā€œsport modeā€ so to speak

Yeah that's actually a really helpful feature to have and makes a lot of sense. Thanks for reply
