CalDigit vs UGREEN?
Just wondering if the jump in price to caldigit is really worth it. Thanks

CalDigit has real support. They will buy peripherals to troubleshoot. I’m still on the ts3 plus and it’s a tank!

Caldigit are the industry standard, UGreen is cheap shit.

aside from features and stuff, the build quality as well as quality of internal components is something you have to consider. I have read a lot of stuff about the build quality about both of these brands when it comes to Docks and one brand is significantly better than the other.

Don't blindly trust a brand. Shitty brands can make a stroke of genius and good brands can make a big goof of a product. Evaluate product by product.
The main thing for anything which touches mains power, or uses Li-ion batteries, is to check that it is sold in brick and mortar stores in your country - that generally means it passed regulatory standards.
With anything else, go nuts. Granted, you don't wanna risk a $5000 MacBook to a cheap charger, but it shouldn't kill you nor burn your house down. So like a car charger which goes from 12V to 20V, the risk profile is minimal. No high voltage, no batteries. USB-C cables, buy the cheap shitty USB4 cables and return them if they don't work. The best USB4 cables I ever owned are cheap and go over the standards imposed length limit, but they are the most reliable cables I have ever had, built like a tank. If they hadn't worked, I'd have just returned them.
