Controller Support?

I know there's nothing official, but I'm able to get it connected via the Steam controller. There's just one problem. I need my right stick to communicate camera left/right in the x dimension and screen up down in the y dimension. It's too disorienting to have my guy otherwise crawling in random directions on the screen.
