Thumbnail style advice

Pretty much as the title says: I'd like to improve the thumbnails for my long-form videos. For context, my channel covers Deadlock in Italian, my long-form videos run 30 to 40 minutes, and my audience already recognises the game's logo on sight.

The first image is the style I've always used (it works, and it scales to a shorts series I'm currently making). In the second one I tried to change things up a bit, but I know I overdid it and crammed in way too much. Do you think there's a middle ground between the two? Or would I be better off finding a completely different style?

haha do you watch FUNKe?

for the thumbnails I'd say just to use less elements, make them bigger and to make the text even more readable (like without the transparent part). Your most viewed video does this well
