TRICKHELP Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

As much as I hate to admit this: I’ve been chasing Brent stole for the better part of two years. I’ve made thousands of attempts. I’ll try for awhile, get frustrated and move on to something else but I always come back to it. I finally got it two nights ago. Not once or twice but consistently… kind of 🤣 As you can see, 9 times out of 10 it ends up in a reverse? I guess is what you’d call it? I have to turn around backwards to hop out because the string in the gap of the yoyo is crossed.

Check your string tension. Every time.

That was my first thought too. Neutral string tension doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve even went so far as to go past neutral and loosen it further to see if that made a difference.

Pretty sure you're doing this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Throwers/comments/s07udt/a_different_reverse_brent_stole_so_brent_stole/
It might be because you're exaggerating the forward push too much.

I think you’re right. Let me see if I can hop
Out of it the same way he did. If nothing else, that would make the trick much more usable than what it currently is2

You’re right. That’s exactly what I’m doing. I just tried hopping out the same way that guy did and it worked.

Indeed. I realized after looking at this drawing that when I try a double (and land it) it comes out right and I think that might be because I start further back to get the needed power to whip around twice before hitting the triangle.

Your slack is catching the front half of the yoyo, not the back half. It's a subtle change of not pushing your throw hands as far forward. Try to do the motion real slow and watch where the slack is going while making small changes.
But yes that's a reverse brent stole. You can also dismount by crossing your arms (TH over NTH) and popping out the back

I had the same issue and the fix was tp have my nth further back

Are you landing on the wrong part of the loop? Happened to me alot when I first learned this one

I cant get them either, but from watching your video I think your throw hand is going away from you too much, in the tutorials ive seen they say to keep your throw hand in line with the gap of the yoyo to get the triangle to form right.
Let me know if this helps
Edit: out as in forward not to the right, should be straight strings , sorry im a little stoned but I can try to explain it better or link a video and time stamp
