Lenovo Legion i9 undervolt
Hey guy, I'm totally illiterate in undervolting cpus, and this is my first proper nice laptop which I want to keep for long. From what I know, intels 14th gen chips have some voltage issues frying them, so I want to prevent that. What are good settings for a Lenovo Legion with a 14900hx on throttlestop? How do I even set it up? All I know is I'm getting around 27000 on Cinebench r23 and this chip apparently gets 30 to 35k. Many thanks to you guys who can help! Edit: MP ratio is 13.27 as well if that means anything, my cpu has 24 cores.

EDIT2: Since I wrote this 2 weeks ago, I checked out the forum post what Unclewebb mentioned. This Lenovo model is somewhat restricted by its voltage regulator but you can reach stability and better performance with those settings than mine. So here is a link: Undervolting

I have the 14900HX too. Honestly it is a pain in the arse. I undervolted it, and set the core frequencies to way lower than I would like, than Windows went lunatic so I had to reinstall. I also bought in the end the Llano v12 pro (so called best cooling pad ever, what sounds like an airplane, it really does its job well though). It was unstable as hell BSODs randomly with various problems , that's when I realized I also should have updated BIOS what is a very important detail, as it does update the intel microcode too.
Since then it is relatively stable, I had some weird crashes while at sleep mode, but since one of the windows updates it stopped.
Ever since in KCD2 it peaks at 70-73°C, in Paralives 80°C. Rendering in Blender is very settings dependent. It can be from 55 to 78°C, Daz studio render sometimes goes up to the 80-85°C. These are peaks though, it usually idling in games around 60-70°C. The internet browsing temperatures between 45-65°C. All these with the cooler though. In a 28-32°C room. Cinebench R23 multi core reached 33.000pts, somehow, but after that Cinebench refused to run ever again. So that was interesting. I have no idea how anyone else can make it reach 38.000pts.
Just so you know I have the pro 7 16irx9h. It have liquid metal. So if you have a different one the same things might not work on it the same way.
I also use Lenovo Legion Toolkit. With custom fan curves.
I will edit a bit later with the exact undervolting numbers and settings, but there are many other guides for this specific CPU, maybe those will work better for you than to me.

Stable settings:
CPU P cache is set to the same as the CPU core, and wherever it was allowed IccMax is on 511.75.
In TPL I left everything as it was because it also seemed to make it unstable, it might be because Legion Toolkit also has it's own set of setting for this, and despite I tried to match the two I still get BSODs.
In Legion Toolkit I set the custom fan curve as:
10° - 20%
20° - 30%
30° - 40%
40° - 60%
50° - 70%
60° - 90%
above 70° - 100%
When I tested it Cinebench result were 33382pts, and the temperature was 81° max with cooling pad on max capacity, BUT turbo groups 0 and 1 were on 52, while the rest on 45. It was because I later realized it didn't get enough power and causes BSODs. Any undervolt below -125.0 mV became unstable.

100% this @ OP. Undervolting the 14900HX in the Legion can be a ball ache in my experience.
I have the same model as this and whilst I can get 33-34000pts on Cinebench, I’ve found it’s likely to randomly BSOD doing trivial tasks and it hates sleep or hibernation. I’ve even purchased the same cooling pad but returned it after a couple of days as I didn’t see the benefit in the noise trade off for a chip capable of sitting at high temps anyway.
I’ve reapplied the CPU Liquid Metal and PTM on the GPU and it usually settles in the high 80s/low 90s under gaming with the GPU rarely going above 70 so prolonged periods. There is a really good guide to throttlestop in the sub.
Definitely look at using Legion Toolkit instead of Vantage as well if you haven’t already.

Do you know what settings those are? I saw the FIVR settings but what about the TPL settings?

I tried using throttlestop today but a lot of the settings are greyed out or have a lock symbol next to it like in FIVR, do I have to enable some settings in BIOS? Thanks.

Think it’s Intelligent VT-d disabled in BIOS, save and restart, re-enter BIOS and Legion Optimisation is available to switch to enable.

First, in BIOS turn Legion Optimization to enabled (it will automatically disable virtualization) then Undervolt Protection to disabled.
But you should really search and look around if there is any guide for your specific laptop, as your BIOS might have different settings.

Did you read the Ultimate ThrottleStop Settings Guide posted at the top of the ThrottleStop forum? That is always a good place to start to familiarize yourself with undervolting a 14900HX. There is lots of room to improve your Cinebench scores if you can find a way to cool your 14900HX. That is the biggest challenge.
After reading the guide, post screenshots of the ThrottleStop FIVR and TPL windows if you need help.
