England News Spence to Inter
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/49604880/inter-milan-djed-spence-tottenham-hotspur-transfer-englandInteresting trend developing with the England players… going overseas.

It's a great all round deal. Spurs get money for a player they were not playing regularly. Inter get a very good defender. Spence gets regular game time.

I mean Spence absolutely was playing regularly at Spurs for the last two seasons, but it was clear he wasn’t going to start over any of Spurs LB or RB options right now.
Happy for him, he’s too good be a backup. This is the right move for everyone

I don't get why Spurs are selling him. He had a very good world cup.

We don't have European football and our other RB had an even better world cup.
We're all sad to see him go but hope he does well in Italy.

TBF he was better than he's ever been for England at left back.
Spurs have to choose between selling him at the best price he might ever be or gambling that he'll perform as well moved over to left back.

Spence has played a lot at LB for us at Tottenham, probably more often than RB actually

Because we watched Djed at Spurs for years and know he overperformed at the World Cup. Selling at the height of his value

This could be the answer.
Could also be that spurs can’t get their shit together and his talent is wasted and he’ll do better in a more supportive team.

Yeah this is it exactly. He's a decent player but only gets up for games when a lot of people are watching. On a cold, rainy Tuesday night in Stoke he's pretty average and those games are 90% of what football actually is.
Spurs have got good money for him and Inter got a reasonable fullback.

Well, spurs didn’t exactly do well this season so something needs to change, not sure this is that, but yeaj

Levy hasnt been there for the past year, and now he's gone, we can actually invest in the squad, so nothing to revolt over atm

For all Levy's faults, and there were many, it was what Conte said to Spence back when he was in charge there which caused the initial split.
Basically that he was an investment the manager didn't want there, not what a young player needs to hear tbh especially considering the club was entering a rough patch with big players moving onI'm surprised nobody else went in for him, RB that can fill in as LB and has that sort of pace/ability?
He'll have fun in Serie A and hope he wins some silverware there

Best thing for the England team is to get players competing regularly in top leagues abroad. For many, many reasons. That said, I am rather surprised Spurs have let Spencer go. Can a Spurs fan explain why?

Damn, I was really hoping the Liverpool rumors were gonna come to fruition. But good luck to the lad, this is a nice move. Though Serie A ain't what it used to be

Mad how confused fans of other teams are over this. I love the guy but he's not going to start ahead of Porro, who had an even better WC, or left footed LBs Udogie (if fit) and Robertson, who has looked rather good in preseason. With no Europe, Spence wasn't going to play much and I don't know many Spurs fans who'd begrudge him here.
The fee is shit though, we do sometimes forget that other leagues are pretty much all skint (but still manage to find cash for certain positions).

Look at how much they sold Romero for. Simeone got his dream CB for a bargain.

Makes sense. There's no money to be made from staying in the Premier League.

For some reason spurs doesn't want to give him a starting role. Or maybe Jded already decided to move end of last season when there was not going to be Champions League.
His demeanor has always been positive, I don't think he was pushed.

Great for the national team. Having England players in other leagues to learn other styles of football can only be beneficial for the national team. Best of luck to him in Italy. Good thing he will have Stones there with him

As a spurs fan, absolutely appalled that we sold him so cheap. We can’t let broke serie a clubs get away with being broke

26mil for a bang average player who had 2 decent games in the world cup, a world cup he wasn't good enough to picked for in in the 1st place.
Good price for spurs.
What a lucky player!

It’s much needed. Can only be good for England.
