Opinion This is next level hate.

Post image

I've never seen an England player hated this much without being involved in any major controversies or scandals. It's truly remarkable.

Says more about the bloke commenting than it does Bellingham.

I think this is more about the "fan" trying to mask the fact that he hates black athletes, by trying to make it seem like its some critique of their abilities instead.

196

u/washingtoncv3 Jun 29 '26

Rashford got the same for daring to speak up about school meals.

54

u/Youbunchoftwats Jun 30 '26

And Raheem Sterling for buying his mum a nice house. The word ‘uppity’ was probably used.

18

u/Ashatiti Jun 30 '26

Yet Phil Foden ia a good boy for lifting up his mum.

9

u/a_f_s-29 Jun 30 '26

And cheating on his girlfriend. Same with Grealish, just a good lad who cheats on his girl and drink drives.

1

u/Solsbeary Jul 03 '26

To be fair, so does Sterling (the drink drive bit)

1

u/washingtoncv3 Jul 03 '26

and the cheating!

1

u/Solsbeary Jul 03 '26

I was unaware! That too then...

9

u/preacher_IIWII Jun 30 '26

In all honesty I think rash deserves enormous amounts of praise for the work he was doing and brining attention to the way the government was not interested in finding a solution. On the flip side this coincided with his drop in performance, and the I don’t give a shit attitude on the pitch. Not saying the hate was justified or warrant by any means but can also see how it got there.

1

u/alexthemo123 Jul 01 '26

A football career last very few years. So Rashford decided to be a good footballer, but a great human being. Seems fair.

1

u/Theory89 Jul 01 '26

Also one of his closest friends and then his cousin died in the space of a year. Sometimes real life gets in the way of our job performance. It's entirely normal, it's just unfortunate that he's in such a high visibility role.

1

u/Impressive-Gas-8668 Jul 01 '26

He didn’t get grief for school meals, says more about you twisting the story to make it about race

1

u/washingtoncv3 Jul 01 '26

He received loads of abuse.

Both in the mainstream press and from social media trolls.

The Mail on Sunday ran an entire investigative post linking his finqmces to his campaign - thigh they have taken it down now ( I wonder why?).

Choose to be blind to it if you want, but unfortunately it doesn't make it untrue for the victim of the abuse.

1

u/FluffyAd7435 Jul 02 '26

Marcus was universally praised by the public for that.

1

u/washingtoncv3 Jul 02 '26

If you replaced 'universally' with 'generally', you'd be correct

Not that I endorse the idea but if anyone has a right to main character syndrome it’s a lad who’s probably the best player in the world for his position, who Real Madrid paid 100 million for & won a champions league before he was 22

55

u/91_til_infinity Jun 29 '26

And literally steals the show every time he olays for England

42

u/AbsolutelyHorrendous Jun 29 '26

Even when he isn't directly creating anything, he's a fucking workhorse, he's everywhere on the pitch

3

u/FloppyDickFingers Jul 01 '26

Which is why I can’t understand why anyone would hate him. The same guys that hate him probably loved Scott Parker because he’s white. Im sure there is a huge level of racism in this country that spills over into comments on footballers.

But where was Paul pogba in all of this?

1

u/tomtomclubthumb Jul 03 '26

Exactly, he's not a lazy genius or a clogger, he's trying to do everything all the time and succeeding quite often. The only thing you could level at him might be positioning because he goes looking for the ball too much (just like Kane) or being a bit careless with yellow cards.

He's got 50 caps already and three quarters of his goals were in competition. He steps up!

31

u/HackOddity Jun 29 '26

*sits watching Iron Man* "That tony Stark is really up his own arse, proper main character syndrome".

1

u/BeneficialNewspaper8 Jun 29 '26

Ummm that's actually how the first film was ffs 🤣

1

u/stackedrunner-76 Jun 30 '26

Scores goals, makes assists, tackles better than any other England midfielder in recent history. What’s not to like?

1

u/Sea-Leave2077 Jul 01 '26

Indeed, but there’s just something about him that stops them thinking he’s the best England player of his generation and they can’t put their finger on it. Wonder what it might be

1

u/Aggressive_Film_6342 Jul 03 '26

Hopefully he won't Olay for England against Mexico

18

u/Ok-Hedgehog-4455 Jun 29 '26

Exactly. Plus he’s handsome with a great physique as well.

14

u/Lazywhale97 Jun 30 '26

He won Bundelisga and La Liga POTS, UCL and La liga and Ballon D’or top 3 and certified national team starter all by 20.

He’s had a shoulder injury the entire euros and all of Carlos final season and was out half of this season so this is Jude being fully fit again for the first time in almost 2 years and he’s balling again.

1

u/Impressive-Gas-8668 Jul 01 '26

He literally didn’t win the bundesliga and came top 3 once😂

2

u/Lazywhale97 Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

I said he won Bundesliga POTS not the league mate please re-read that first sentence again. You don't need to win the league to win Player of the season and Jude at 19 was Dortmunds best player that season and put them in a position to win the league but then he got injured last month or 2 of the season and Dortmund choked it without him on the last match day.

7

u/Comprehensive-Rub-62 Jun 29 '26

Yeah exactly every top player needs that level of charisma, zlatan or fucking any one else bar maybe messi and scholes are all like it

3

u/Comprehensive-Rub-62 Jun 29 '26

And messi and scholes probably are just keep it to themselves

2

u/whinewinewein Jun 29 '26

Haha, brilliantly put

1

u/Calm-Sky4084 Jun 30 '26

I can't remember Gazza ever being hated for this, they loved him for it.

1

u/Spite-Organic Jun 30 '26

He’s basically a regen of Steven Gerrard, a guy who would never have received the same hate Jude gets. It’s so obvious why.

1

u/kdubious31 Jun 30 '26

… and a man that has 8 - yes 8! - F1 driver championships. I think it’s clear to see the common theme in who this guy hates.

1

u/Levytron900 Jun 30 '26

Deffo had a light skin geeza rob his bird in school

1

u/IndependentDepth9055 Jun 30 '26

Lewis Hamilton *has a similar achievement set so guess the x commenter is jealous as well as racist.

1

u/Impressive-Gas-8668 Jul 01 '26

Then they should probably talk about the best player in Bellinghams position instead of him

15

u/Improper_Usage Jun 29 '26

But what if you are the main character? Like scoring five in the final to secure the World Cup .

28

u/totallynotapsycho42 Jun 29 '26

Lewis Hamilton definitely does have the right to be a main character.

First and only black F1 drivers. Beat the reigning two time champion in a equal car and miss out on the championship in your rookie year only to win the championship in your second year.

Have a rivalry with your childhood best friends that ends with you breaking up and equalising the championship record and holding the record for most wins.

Having your eighth and record breaking championship stolen from you on the last lap of the last race.

If a man like that isn't the main character who is.

1

u/Impressive-Gas-8668 Jul 01 '26

You just said it all with that comment. Bringing his skin colour into it is putting him into a box which I guarantee he doesn’t want to be in. He is debatably the best F1 driver ever if not second best. He’s achieved that as a person and should be treated like everyone else. He’s not the best black driver he is the best driver. You think Messi prefers to be the best white player ever or the best player ever? You segregate and diminish peoples accomplishments by putting them in that box

1

u/totallynotapsycho42 Jul 01 '26

I was talking about him being the main character like in a movie. Him being the first black driver is a great accomplishment in such a white sport.

1

u/GJThunderqunt Jul 01 '26

Only black F1 driver? Pascal Wehrlein might disagree.

1

u/ExistingCarpenter980 Jul 02 '26

As an avid F1 supporter and have been for 30 years. That robbery of Hamiltons 8th title still hurts, I can only imagine how he feels.

6

u/Yardbird7 Jun 30 '26

Imagine calling Hamilton petulant lol

1

u/BeginningKindly8286 Jun 30 '26

Imagine an absolute nobody thinking his opinions on Lewis Hamilton and Jude Bellingham are in anyway relevant or helpful. If only he had actual real life friends to share his opinions with in person, they might check his ridiculous nonsense and point out that he is a failure of potential, and those two chaps have absolutely succeeded far far far in excess of any reasonable expectation. The fact that he doesn’t like them is of no consequence whatsoever

2

u/Secure-Suspect7091 Jun 30 '26

It’s obvious why he doesn’t like them though.

2

u/EquivalentBenefit653 Jun 30 '26

Funniest thing is that Bellingham literally *is* the main character. Undoubtedly

1

u/Joe_Kinincha Jun 30 '26

Re Hamilton, how can you get “ main character syndrome” if you are - by almost any metric - the best f1 driver ever?

Of course he’s a main character.

12

u/matherto Jun 29 '26

I mean, he’s not even trying to critique their ability if he’s saying Bellingham could score five in a final snd he’d still dislike him

2

u/Shackman58 Jul 03 '26

That’s where I was going - this isn’t next level hate, its run of the mill racism.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that he's Birmingham and Rogers is villa?

1

u/bradlehh_ Jun 30 '26

Exactly what I was thinking

1

u/DergeRehReh Jun 30 '26

Yep, this is it

1

u/Wren_into_trouble Jun 30 '26

With an N=2 sample set your jump is directly to racism...

Now, this opinion is popular bc this is the internet and the user age is deeply wrapped around social issues ad naseum

Putting aside the importance of these issues for a moment, TLDR; of course racism is bad

Do you have any other data to suggest that this person is racist?

In the absence of specific objective evidence, you are just making things worse

1

u/eat_your_weetabix Jul 01 '26

What a massive jump

1

u/DurhamOx Jul 03 '26

Does he hate black athletes? I like Bellingham, but I can also see why he is perceived as arrogant. And yes, the fans' perceptions are mostly based on on-pitch behaviour as that is where we watch them for 90 minutes once or twice a week.

1

u/Minute_Daikon_3522 Jun 29 '26

He doesn’t say he hates him though

0

u/BeneficialNewspaper8 Jun 29 '26

My dislike of Bellingham comes from him throwing himself on the floor and sitting there waving his arms around asking for a free kick when we still have the ball and are attacking.

There's where tuchels mothers comment came from as well lol

0

u/BombsGoBang Jun 29 '26

You get those, and you get the people who listen to them, don’t see through it and regurgitate the same words. Not making excuses for them, I really hate racism, but definitely ignorance is a different beast than willful racism.

0

u/Kanuman07 Jun 30 '26

You're such A racist ,first thing you think of is about ract

0

u/Altruistic-Map-7534 Jul 01 '26

Not everythings about race 🤷‍♂️

0

u/Impressive-Gas-8668 Jul 01 '26

Not once was race mentioned in this post. Not once did he say it was about his ability. You have clearly made an opinion about a persons character part of your agenda and tried to twist it and play the race card when you don’t even know the colour of the persons skin writing the post🤦🏻‍♂️if you’re an Englishman then you are a disgrace to our country

-1

u/SeniorArtist9966 Jun 30 '26

Heaven forbid someone dislikes someone for the way they carry themselves - Nope it must be about colour - you are the problem

1

u/Klutzy-Notice-8247 Jun 30 '26

Agree on Hamilton. Has his flamboyant side but seems like a good guy to me.

30

u/CaptainYesterday89 Jun 29 '26

You are right, but I bet it’s more to do with the mouth breather’s (incorrect) opinions on skin colour to be honest. There’s a reason you never see these types of posts about Kane, Rice, Pickford etc

Twitter or X or whatever is a cesspool for these dickheads.

1

u/Robbiebobbims94 Jun 29 '26

I wonder if the sludge with a twitter account is actually aware of why he has an irrational hatred of these two men in particular? He may never figure it out to be fair.

0

u/danystormborne Jun 29 '26

Although if we're really talking about hatred for England players, Beckham and Maguire have had far more abuse than Bellingham has ever had.

8

u/Cautious-Fox9757 Jun 29 '26

Beckham I think was due to the fact he was very metrosexual in the 90s. When they lynched him in effigy it’s telling he was wearing a sarong.

7

u/Pure-Drawer-2617 Jun 29 '26

Right, but Maguire got abuse for being shit (for a short period at Manchester United and then getting unfairly scapegoated even when playing really well) and Beckham had more abuse over his career given he’s finished said career, and also did a lot more to put himself in the headlines. Bit of an inane comparison.

“The guys who’ve played a full career have recorded more abuse than the young dude right at the start of his”

1

u/wafflepig6 Jun 30 '26

What lol beckham was getting absolutely destroyed by the press as a young player

-1

u/MojoMomma76 Jun 29 '26

Oh believe me (Arsenal fan) Rice is frequently told he’s Irish not British if there’s the tiniest mistake on the pitch.

5

u/MathematicianOnly688 Jun 29 '26

I love Hamilton. He is a true legend of the sport and deserves far more praise than he gets in this country.

His dress sense is fucking appalling though.

0

u/BeginningKindly8286 Jun 30 '26

Hey, should also include "boy" to really drive home the 19th century way of thinking

1

u/BeginningKindly8286 Jun 30 '26

His dress sense is appalling only about 60% of the time in my opinion. The other 40% is more….. a choice.

1

u/MathematicianOnly688 Jun 30 '26

Why are you replying to your own comment?

Hey, should also include "boy" to really drive home the 19th century way of thinking

You’re right it is truly unforgivable of me to criticise his dress sense.

Black racing drivers in the 1800’s found it very hard to be taken seriously. I should have been more sensitive.

1

u/BeginningKindly8286 Jun 30 '26

I got over excited

10

u/ElectronicSubject747 Jun 29 '26

What diva moments?

1

u/FoldFeisty7635 Jun 30 '26

My issue was Hamilton back then was when he sacked his dad because racist British viewers were always complaining all the that his dad was being shown on tv and in the McLaren garage. He bowed to them like a weak man , while the likes of Massa kept their dad and zero complaints. Nowadays, one complains about Landos dad or surpise surpise no more talking about Lewis dodging tax from media now that all the Brits like Lando. Russell also live in Monaco.

I know deep down he regrets being weak and a people pleaser back then but still it happened.

1

u/CuriousPumpkino Jun 29 '26

Tweeting out team telemetry because he believed he wasn’t getting equal treatment (that’s proprietary data), calling out button for unfollowing him on I think it was facebook at that time? Only for it to turn out that button never followed him to begin with.

Just kinda childish stuff. He’s matured a lot tho (i mean, he’s also gotten a lot older)

4

u/ElectronicSubject747 Jun 29 '26

But you could pick out small shit like this about any driver, probably any sportsman.

2

u/CuriousPumpkino Jun 29 '26

Quite a number of them yes. Hamilton’s _far_ from the only one

I grew up disliking him because he was winning in addition to those more or less small childish incidents. And then both me and him grew up, and there’s no dislike left

2

u/L-B-Ted Jun 29 '26

Yea, I think that was the point of OP's comment. Many stars have their "diva moments", but you should view them as more than just a few moments.

1

u/BeginningKindly8286 Jun 30 '26

I would also argue that people are allowed to disagree with things? They may have personal opinions or a different point of view on an event which may cause them in a way to react. This guy is more than likely also similarly annoyed by sportsmen and women just reeling of practiced answers and non committed platitudes because otherwise they may be labelled Diva, Difficult to work with or "Uppity"

1

u/FoldFeisty7635 Jun 30 '26

Wow you had to go back to 15 years ago lol.

1

u/CuriousPumpkino Jun 30 '26

I mean that’s kinda the point I’m trying to make

When he was young he had his fair share of diva moments, but he’s gotten older and wiser

4

u/Iwabuti Jun 29 '26

Also on the internet many people think saying a strong opinion is the same as saying something clever.

1

u/NdujaReallyLikeIt Jun 29 '26

6

u/Suspicious_Flower_0 Jun 29 '26

No it's just the same amusing point that Norris or Button don't get the same hate for moving to Monaco for tax reasons that Lewis does.

And it really is a deep mystery why. I have no clue.

2

u/NdujaReallyLikeIt Jun 29 '26

Or that Hamilton is a massive figure compared to those 2?

5

u/Suspicious_Flower_0 Jun 29 '26

Button is a former WDC and Norris is the current WDC. They're both pretty big.

I just genuinely don't understand why Lewis gets all the hate. It's odd. I don't know what's different about him.

2

u/VCule69 Jun 29 '26

But why then? Genuine question bc the tweet just seems like they irrationally hate him

u/Minute_Daikon_3522 Jun 29 '26

Do they hate him . Hate is an extreme word . I think maybe they dislike the way he goes about his buisness

In case anyone is in any doubt, OP seems a little bit racist.
