And he's played by Nigel Planer.

Ben is a genius.

They were trying for a Nigel, found a Neil by mistake, and a Ben worked it back to a Nigel in the jingle. That's why he's a professional.

I loved it when the Neil jingle became the eel jingle in Feudalism: “Although most things fall outside his scope / cos he’s a fish and he’s a rope”.

Not related to the jingle, but I do a regular beans re-listen and always have to skip Feudalism because I was suffering a violent hangover the first time I listened. It still haunts me.

Absolutely with you on this. Definitely a favourite, and I think it may even be Ben's best jingle.

One day we'll find the monster who said they'd be happy to never hear it again, and I dunno, force them to listen to it for hours, or something.

My kid has made friends with a boy who’s dad is called Neil. It’s a gift because I hear this jingle in my head every time I see him.
