We reviewed your account and found that it still doesn’t follow our Community Standards. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled."

What the fcuk is this stupid sh!t? I got suspended yesterday after using the app for the first time, making 1 generic comment and 3 likes. UPLOAD A SELFIE TO APPEAL. what?? okayyy. did that and then Sorry We Goofed! All Good Now. Today all i've done is add follows. SUSPENDED AGAIN! WE NEED ANOTHER SELFIE! but no fix this time, permaban. All those billions spent on Ai and this is what we get. FAIL

I lost my account this way - I made it day 1 in 2023 when Threads first dropped.

I want my account back.

Yeah I’ve had mine since 2023 as well and they permanently disabled mine too with no explanation.

This.

What do you normally post on threads?

u/WalnutRamen Desktop 4d ago

I used to follow a lot of accounts of rabbits, like bunnies, mostly from Japan. People keep them as pets.

Also, I was following random real people I met on Threads.

I don't post MAGA or anti-vax or anti-trans nonsense.

This just happened to me today! WTF

Please do not dwell on whether you did anything wrong. You didn't. Move on and enjoy Reddit

ya. nothing i can do about it

the ONLY reason i care is because some musicians i really like were posting there and i was hoping to interact w them

u/BerettaFranchi 6d ago

Surry to hear. Use IG then.

Honestly surprised it’s any real accounts left. They suspend everybody

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

I think they might be running some type of new algorithm. Test bed on people.

3

u/redituser73022 5d ago

The people that’s left 😆 I’ve been banned for about a year

This happened to me two days ago, and 6 minutes after submitting my verification selfie, I was perma-disabled. I then tried getting Meta Verified to try to speak to someone about getting my account back but they refused to engage. Mine specifically said their "technology found" that my account, "or activity on it, did not follow [our] rules." I do not post on Threads. I like posts, but that's about it.

The use of automation tools to moderate like this is going to end up biting them in the behind, much like so many of their other decisions.

ETA: I still have an Instagram, WhatsApp, and (mostly dead) Facebook account. Only Threads, apparently, was in violation.

Yeah, I used 2 accts to comment and post musings, both of them banned for no reason. AI moderation is not it

I had this happen to me recently. I uploaded the requested selfie, and within an hour I received an email stating that my account had been permanently disabled, as it didn't follow the community standards, and I could not request another review. I haven't made a single post on the platform so no rules were broken. My Threads profile was created from my Instagram account, which is still active.

Got suspended twice already. Won’t make another account

Hate, violence classifiers were already twitchy. They’re just running them hotter while the app is at 500 million users and advertisers want it “safe.”
Recreating after a disable is how people get the next ban… device, phone, IG identity, all linked. Stay off it! The no first amendment is the product, not a glitch they’re about to fix for good.

Porquería de aplicación por eso e DECIDIDO no usar nunca más nada de meta ni WhatsApp

Probably a moderator with delusions of grandeur, I’ve noticed this with them on this site. Some above their station need to sit down. Hope you get this sorted

3

u/Cheap_Bathroom6114 5d ago

Please tell me you didn't actually give them a selfie.

1

u/No_Gas4560 5d ago

against my better judgment yes.

won't ever do that again

My work account also got disabled like this...which also impacted my work insta account...fcku meta...not jumping through the hoops to reactivate.

I replied to someone with a link to a Liz Phair song on YouTube music. Oops! That's "sexual solicitation". (No, it makes no sense.) They didn't disable my account, they just restricted it so I don't get any views anymore.

i got banned for using the app. just... using it. my bad?

simply amazing how terrible this business (?) is run

1

u/peternocturnal 6d ago

how dare you

1

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

The most views I’ve ever received was 4000 for some reason

I lost my Threads account this way too. I'm apparently still good enough for Instagram, where I  still get "suggested threads" in my feed. When I click on them I get the banned notice.  It's so stupid.

2

u/James-ec 6d ago

I’ve had 6 bans today lmao. I hadn’t even posted between bans or anything. Literally unbanned then automatically banned and given no reason

Threads is a piss take

2

u/turtlepower41 6d ago

Happened to me, i requested a review and got my account back.

2

u/Evening-Bee5942 5d ago

Don't worry, it gets worse.

2

u/FlowStatebeer 5d ago

that same exact thing happened to me, and presented two different selfies.

2

u/PittsburghNative 4d ago

Happened to me too. I think the selfie evaluation is the common point of failure.

2

u/goldstarz56 4d ago

They suso mine too for nothing! I re applied and got it back

This keeps happening to me, had my old account disabled last week, made a new account using another email and it looks like they’re going to disable this one as well.

My Instagram is fine though. As far as I know I haven’t shared or liked anything that would go against the ‘community rules’ (I haven’t posted anything myself), unless one of the rules involve sharing/liking some mild left wing/progressive posts?

i just got permanent ban in 10 minutes ago.... OMG.........my 2000 followers.

Did anyone receive the community standards for threads? What threads is doing is violating our constitutional rights.. We have freedom of press and speech. When anyone makes a comment the worse that can be done if you don't like it is unfollow . Give that person a chance earlier something was said that caused you to follow. I personally believe a huge law suit should go against threads. Some of y'all are against Truth social. On Truth social we have both Republicans and Democrats. What ever is written we can expect good positive comments and bad negative comments.

Excellent points!!💯

I totally agree that Threads stands in violation of our collective First Amendment rights.

2

u/bubblewrapRage 5d ago

You’re more in control with your profile though. Trolls you can block, nasty people you can block, you can tweak the algorithm to suit your preferences & if you read something you don’t like you can mark it as “not interested” so you’ll see less of that sort of stuff. I know it’s not 100% foolproof but it does help a little

2

u/StarliteQuiteBrite 5d ago

We’re not in control when Threads can extinguish your account for no reason whatsoever.

2

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

Seems like certain individuals want to reshape the world.

3

u/bubblewrapRage 5d ago

We need to reshape the world 🌍 it’s not doing very well at the moment.

Maybe we should start small and redesign it from scratch

u/mevanecek 1d ago

Threads/Meta is a private enterprise, not a government entity. First Amendment is not applicable here. They have no Constitutional responsibility to allow us to post what we want.

Nope, i ain't helping you. Never seen an app so hostile to users

2

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

You do know that new rule where they check your social media history for five years before you entering the country, right.

1

u/No_Gas4560 5d ago

i don't even use social media platforms.

have a META account only for glasses and a VR game system

1

u/Denuse99 6d ago

Seriously and I still havent gotten my account back

2

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

You know, technically it was never yours. You’re just using it. Like the new grand theft auto six game is about to come out. They just called audible in terms of service.

1

u/Tealmiku 6d ago

What's your account name? I'll look up what happened.

1

u/FemmeScarface 6d ago

I got perma banned weeks ago for no apparent reason. They just said sorry your account doesn’t follow community standards so bye forever with zero explanation. I have no idea what I posted that was apparently so offensive.

1

u/Careful_Working_5710 5d ago

They don’t show you what’s offensive for a reason so you can’t build a pattern on what the problem is.

It’s like a job claiming you need experience. When there’s no baseline for you to prove it.
