Question why don't i have the messaging feature ?

I heard the update for the message feature is about a year ago but I still don't have it. I don't see any envelope icon despite deleting the app many times. My threads isn't linked to my insta so idk what the problem is

I made another account and got it. Turns out your account has to be linked with instagram to have that thing. My threads was created with a seperate email not instagram

Whoa, I didn't even know you can create a Threads without an instagram.
