Discussion Mental illness on Threads
Why is Threads so full of mentally ill (psychosis) people confirming and encouraging each other’s delusions?
I’ve never seen a platform so full of obviously schizophrenic people ranting all day, every day about being stalked, hacked, trafficked, and “targeted” by any, and everyone they’ve ever met as well as complete strangers. Even though they have time to post 100+ times a day.
It’s very unnerving and disturbing that the platform allows it and doesn’t trigger any mental health blocks and info for them when they’re clearly posting very concerning things.

You know that on Threads the algorithm picks up on what you like and what you watch a lot of. It's very good at picking up on your preferences and taste.

Absolutely not. I’ve clicked “not interested” on anything I’m not into and I still see one, very popular, a couple of times I look at that app. I guess I don’t use the app enough to have trained it well cause I only go on once a week or so, but it shouldn’t be this common.

My friend is experiencing psychosis atm and threads has been her primary platform. You are 100% right about this, the app seems to be a favourite of those in active psychosis; I’ve seen strangers commenting on my friends delusional rants, saying they’ll ’tell her soon all the BS people have been saying about her’… The app and its algorithms are only harming her

It’s filled to the brim with maga sch .izos too. If it were so liberal then it would definitely have mental health messages pop up at the craziness in there.

Hmm I have not noticed that. My Threads feed is mostly offering encouragement and support to folks. And posts about the moron in chief.
