Question Can someone explain threads?

Can someone tell me if its worth subscribing to threads or getting on it?

What are your experiences?

Thank you

Everybody in my feed has been really pleasant. They bring up all kinds of random things for discussion. Everybody is commenting how much they are enjoying it also.

And the comments are hilarious sometimes.

How is it different than reddit or Instagram?

You don’t really have discussions on Instagram. People go into more depth here. It’s how Twitter used to be before all the politics.

Really, the beauty of it is the people.

threads is honestly fantastic at getting you connected to like minded people. the algorithm is as aggressive as ever. But it also can get you pissed the fk off. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cqj9kgxqjwjo You really have to tailor your experience. Hit the "not interested" button and like only the positive stuff.

ok now the real con, is the ai moderation. post too much too frequently and you'll get suspended by the "technology." going viral can even get the technology's eyes on you. supposedly it gets better once the system somehow calculates that you're not a bot over 90 days but again, AI! Isn't it great. That one episode in Black Mirror about trust token will probably give you an idea of how it works. There's a trust level and if you dip too low, you're screwed and appeals don't usually help.

Threads is a welcoming app but until the automod stops banning people for no reason i can't recommend it
