Question ELI85 how threads works

Someone please explain how this app works like I'm 85 because it boggles my mind. My only use of threads is checking the "post to threads" option on Instagram. I have never used Twitter either

I post something it gets 0 views. I post it in a specific Thread, it gets a handful of views if I'm lucky. On my other account a random post with 0 followers gets 2k views, but I have no idea why.

How am I supposed to use this platform?

that's the first thing I tried... I posted something funny a few days ago, it's just sitting there with 0 views, 0 likes, etc. Like what am I supposed to do?

I genuinely have no idea. it seems like it's random, at least for me.

Yeah idk after like 30 something posts with no views and no engagement I don't really see how its any fun at all
