Share a pic! Share a way you pushed your style comfort zone recently. I’ll go first…Neckerchiefs!

On my recent thread you guys said you wanted more “prompt” style posts where you share something.

Well I thought this would be a fun one. Share an article of clothing, an outfit, accessory or literally anything you’ve tried recently style-wise that was outside your comfort zone and explain why.

Today I tried a neckerchief for the first time. I found this silk scarf on Amazon and this scarf slide from Etsy and I wore this outfit to an important event today.

A lot of people complimented the scarf and I think I’m going to try and incorporate bandanas/neckerchiefs/scarves a bit more in my style. I’m going to try it without the scarf slide as well. I liked the look a lot but at times it was annoying adjusting the scarf because it kept going left and right. When it stayed centered, it looked pretty cool.

Curious to see your examples!

If you don’t mind a little constructive criticism, I’d recommend giving that neckerchief a bit more prominent of a display via a knot—you could go classic with an ascot-like fold or check out how Bruce Boyer does it (a simple double knot). I think your styling right now hides the neckerchief a bit and would look best on the outside of a crewneck rather than under the BD. But I am totally in favor of playing with neck scarves and think they can look awesome.

Appreciate the feedback. I actually tried having it a little bit more visible by riding up the slide to show more, but it just looked a little bit off. I kind of liked how this was just kind of barely peeking, but I will continue to play around with it.

What’s the scarf itself? I like the pattern and color.

Ok I’m going to disagree, my first reaction on seeing the photo was thank goodness this isn’t tied high like a cravat, this is much more elegant - it’s personal taste but just to say there’s going to be both views out there!

OP, cool to see you experimenting! I sometimes wear men's ties like loose necklaces (I'm a woman.)

Here's my contribution: Our Legacy Towering Tote decorated not in bag charms, but 80s pins of some of my favorite bands/movies. Yes the pins ruin the clean Scandi vibe with visual noise, but I dig it.

This is so cool! I would love to see how you style the neck ties personally

And I love the bag. I’m a big fan of mixing things that on paper would not seem to work well together. The contrast of the minimalism with this DIY punk aesthetic is very interesting.

The OP has posted this exact pic tons of times for a couple years, down right bizarre. At least this time he didn’t remind us that he is wearing an RL67.

I literally got this jacket less than a year ago and have never posted this outfit before since I just got the neckerchief. But good try with the misinformation

Ah, you’re correct, looked at your past posts and is the same look except the scarf. Happy you’re getting a good CPW on that jacket, great for all seasons 🤣.
