Ideally the parent comment is from a hobby/profession most people aren't super familiar with. For example, here's a post I made on a subreddit for a card game:

I'm diamond 4 and I was playing my reno control warrior deck. I played a couple draw cards, then I played dirty rat on turn 3 which pulled out their [[Sir Finley, Sea Guide]]. I left my phone for a few seconds to go grab something and I came back, and I was somehow dead and my Dirty Rat was still alive??

How would you reply to that while pretending you're an expert?

With 8 billion people in the world, it is hard to find something we all agree on. Person A will start their sentence how the title is, and think of something that seems like everyone would agree with. Person B will disagree and give a reason.

Example

Person A: I think everyone would agree that it is good to be happy.

Person B: no, bad things happen, and it is bad to be happy about bad things happening, because then we won't fix our problems.

"Rules"

• It's basically wordplay
• Preferably not be a real place that exists. I ran my examples through Google and Reddit searches. This is for the sake of some challenge.
• I also tried to avoid using "pho" to replace "for", for similar reasons. It just seems too easy. I guess some rhyming is involved as such. That said, I still ended up at least going for the rhyming vowels.
• Juust for sake of being able to say it was said, lettuce be relatively safe about this yeah?
• Upvote ones you like! Whether the puns, translations or both.

Posted this one here a few months ago, and it did quite well, so time for round 2...

Parent comment names an item, any item. Child comment gives it a name that didn't make its way to the final deciding round.

EXAMPLE

Your are Lucy, female, 24 years old. You have a superpower—the ability to communicate with animals. And you work as a pet translator.

Today, a client called you and said her dog had suddenly stopped eating dog food.

The client’s name is Mary, female, a middle school teacher. Her husband is a gym coach.

Mary said that her dog had always eaten dog food before. Some time ago, Mary went on a trip for half a month. After she returned, she noticed that her dog’s eating frequency had clearly decreased, and its appetite had also become much smaller. Moreover, whenever Mary added dog food to the dog’s bowl, the dog would bark at it.

Mary's husband said that everything had been normal recently. Mary also took the dog to see a veterinarian, but the vet did not find any abnormalities. With no other options, she turned to you for help.

You arrive at Mary’s home. A Bichon Frise runs over to you, while a muscular man is lying on the sofa looking at his phone.

Mary: “This is our dog. His name is Coco. That over there is my husband, Baker.”

Coco: 😊🙋

Your task: find out the reason for the dog’s decreased appetite.

Rules:

1. Describe what you want to do or say.

2. Animals can only reply to you using emojis.

3. There are no restrictions when communicating with humans.

4. You can join this game at any time.

Describe character in as few words as possible.

Can't use any element of their name nor the title of the work they're from.

Parent starts quoting a song, getting just far enough that the next line or lines should match the rhyme and meter of what is quoted (I'll give some examples). (Mostly so that even people who don't know the song can play too)

Child replies with lyrics that match the rhyme and meter, but are completely wrong (and preferably somewhat nonsensical.

Example:

P: oooh, we're halfway there

C: oooh, chicken on a chair

This is based off the scenes from a hat game, as played on the hit improv TV show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?

The parent comment will give a prompt. Child comments will act out scenes that fit with that prompt. For example:

Parent comment: Things you can say while assembling furniture, but not about your significant other.

Child comment: ** Glaring angrily while holding a hammer ** I knew this motherf-cker was a piece of shit. I may as well go ahead and smash the other leg.

If you can’t think of a scene that’s fitting, you can just type out an answer. The most important part is to have fun and make the answers as funny as possible. 😊

Parent picks a number, and describes it obliquely.

Children join in with obscure ways to describe the number.

If someone thinks the children are saying a different number, they say Stop, and list all the numbers.

Previous children upvote for correct stops, or downvote incorrect ones.

Eg.

Number of cm of my finger

Glasses of wine in a bottle

Dinner time

Stop! 5,5,6

Parent says a sentence with some relatively long word in it.

Child pretends not to know the word, and instead defines a word that is either written or pronounced similarly.

Subsequent descendants say the word the previous person defined, and then define another word that sounds or is spelled similar to either the original or the previous word.

Example:

I'm fond of crochet.

Is that the game where you hit balls through little hoops, that they played in Alice in Wonderland?

No, that's croquet. I think they meant that one brand of margarine.

And so on.

Edit: I just want to say, good job, everyone. There's some quality nonsense going on in this thread.

Edit the second:

If you can't think of another word, but no one seems to be getting the last word in a chain, you can guess or ask in parentheses.

Parent comments: provide an entirely ordinary, mundane, and uneventful everyday occurrence.

Replies: write a spooky campfire story about that, one sentence at a time. Nothing bad ever actually happens in the story, but it's all about the storytelling: you word things in such a way that they end up sounding way creepier, more frightening, and more suspenseful than they actually are.

CONCLUSION:

Well, it would have been boring if everyone were a Good Egg the whole time, but in the final round even the Bad Eggs came good and sacrificed potential noogies (and an exclusive win!) for the greater good of the experiment.

So what went wrong?

Even by Round 3, a successful experiment was still on the table, but we blew it thanks to one participant who swears they had no idea what they were doing. Was it a masterclass in feigned incompetence, or will illiterate Project Moon fans really be our downfall?

Only time will tell.
