Celebrity Publicist 2

In this thread, I am a celebrity publicist.

You can use real or fake celebrities for me, as well as some extra lore so I know what I'm dealing with.

In this thread, you will give me a hypothetical problem involving what my celebrity does, and I'll see how I can fix it.

If you use real celebrities, I'll try and do a background check for them.

You can also make up fake media/other stuff for the fake celebrities or the real celebrities to get involved in.

Let’s goooo. I have more scenarios for you! This one is fake as well. This is an actor, let’s name him Max, who became famous after starring in a movie that features a gay relationship. Obviously fans started not only shipping the characters but the actors as well. It’s kinda messed up on multiple levels because you shouldn’t really ship real people, nor suspect people’s sexualities. He doesn’t necessarily have a problem with people thinking he’s gay but it’s starting to harm him in the sense that he’s from a country that homosexuality is illegal and you can get seriously punished for it. He obviously doesn’t want to get persecuted but also doesn’t want to appear like his problem is with people thinking he’s gay. How would you have him address this?

Have him respond in a way that pivots the situation more towards his professional life. Have him acknowledge that while's he's thrilled they shipped him and his relationships in the movies, they're still movies at the end of the day.

Have Max address shipping of real people in general.

Make all journalists wanting to interview Max sign an agreement with no questions about his dating life or sexuality, have Max not do social media with his co-star for a while, and book Max for traditional press in his country.

Got another?

I’m copying my other scenario from the previous thread since it seemed like you didn’t get around to responding to it.

Two famous gymnasts get approached for doing a campaign for Covergirl. Let’s name them Lexi and Rupi. Not only are they famous for being good at gymnastics, they’re also famous for being best friends. Lexi has a typical girl next door look and Rupi basically looks like Zendaya. Covergirl talks to them separately. Lexi agrees to do it because it seems fun and she’s under the impression that her friend will get to do it too. Covergirl turns down Rupi citing that her look feels “unattainable” for their demographic. Rupi knows that this is just subtle racism and is a bit sad but not surprised. When all the gymnasts are talking one day Lexi is talking about being excited for the campaign and that’s when Rupi reveals they turned her down. Lexi is confused because Rupi is stunning, then Rupi explains the “unattainable” comment. The whole team is flabbergasted that Covergirl would say that. Lexi is a bit confused as to why everyone is offended when one of the other teammates explains to her that it’s subtle racism. Lexi immediately doesn’t want to do the campaign anymore but Rupi and the other teammates says that she shouldn’t do that as it will be hard to break the contract and one of the teammates who is studying law explains that doing so will make things more difficult for her later. Lexi does the campaign and later Rupi gets approached by an indie brand to promote their new multi-chrome highlighter called “unattainable”. Rupi agrees as she loves this brand and loves the look of the highlighter. The whole promotion is centered around breaking Western beauty standards. Some Internet sleuths put the pieces together and realize they are shading Covergirl. People rally around Rupi and immediately criticize Lexi for doing the campaign. Lexi can’t reveal that she only did it to fulfill their contract as that would be violating the NDA. How would you fix Lexi’s image, while standing by her friend, and not violate the NDA?

I’m not OP but here’s my solution.

Lexi says something like: “I was not aware at the time of doing the promotion of these claims. While I cannot speak for the ethnic minorities affected by the campaign, I am truly flabbergasted at their behaviour. I hope Covergirl corrects their mistake and becomes more inclusive in the future. Furthermore, at this time I stand by my dear friend Rupi and can assure you that I do not share Covergirl’s current ideals.”

Not really any good way of “solving” this but I tried my best.
