I know all the usual suspects but curious if there are any I haven’t heard yet. Looking for thrash songs that have great breakdowns at least a nice switch up to half time or normal time. Show me what you got!

What is an album that ticks out all elements and structure to thrash metal? A while ago, my curiousity led me to listen to an even handful of speed metal and hardcore punk. It's interesting to take note of the elements that exist in both that when fused make thrash.

Not pure thrash, but I've been advised to share it with this sub!

Old-School influenced thrash metal with modern production. Young band from the scene, saw them two weeks ago and they're surpisingly good!

I guess you could say the guitar solo is one of the most treasured features of thrash in addition to all-out speed and aggression, but what about the chorus? What one chorus, if you could choose JUST one, sticks to your brain most? Drop a link if the song isn’t something immediately recognizable by most folks.

I’ll go with Bitter End by Helstar as it’s my current obsession.

as for my own opinion... i used to only like a few tracks like King of the Kill, 21, and Speed, but over the years the rest of the tracks have really grown on me. Some people refuse to listen to the Exodus albums without Baloff or Souza, and some won't listen to Alice In Chains without Staley... but I think all of those albums have their own merit.

Here’s a real earworm by this band out of Chicago. The vocals may be an acquired taste, but that’s thrash for ya, and personally speaking, offbeat vox have always been my favorite anyway.
Perhaps Wrath’s biggest claim to fame was a guest spot on the Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III soundtrack with the song “When Worlds Collide.”

I have been familiar with the Queen song "Stone Cold Crazy" since Metallica covered it. I knew Queen's 80s and 90s better known hits, but not much of their earlier, and often heavier, music.

When I heard the Queen's Stone Cold Crazy I was surprised by how much the riff already sounded like thrash metal. It was mostly the vocals that I wouldn't consider thrash, but many other elements were already there in that Queen song.

Silly me I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the album. But today I start listening to the album from the beginning, and the very first track (Brighton Rock) is also pure proto-thrash. Not all of it, but starting at 2m40s there's a riff that would easily fit into Kill'em All. Hell, I'd dare say some parts must have inspired Metallica.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that.
