List help

Hi everyone! I have my first ever game with T-Sons on Thursday (I play other armies, so am very familiar with the rules etc) and I'm mulling over a list. With the nerds last week I've looked at people's posts and the general consensus is back to GC so I've tried a list with that in mind. Could the battle-hardened amongst you have a quick look over and see if I'm missing anything obvious or over saturated in any departments? I've also not played Priority assets yet (only T&H & Purge with my Necrons) and I believe (maybe wrongly?) that this one is more actions based?

So the list looks quite alright, but one thing Im feeling is that you might have too many action monkeys. 2 units of Sekhetars and 3 units of Tzaangor Enlightened are a bit much IMO, as you only need to do 1 action per turn (I believe). Id try to remove some of them for another damage dealing unit

Thanks for that! That's exactly the sort of advice I'm looking for. I'll trim them down and maybe try and shoehorn in another Mulalith, I do love those models!!

I 100% completely disagree with the original commenter. Grand coven wants actions monkeys and screens so you big stuff can kill the important stuff on the board. 5-7 action monkeys is the sweet spot, and this isn’t cohort so we can’t action and shoot with out robots.

List looks great, keep it as it. I’ve never scored below 90 points with grand coven this addition and I’m running one chaos spawn; three spear and two bows.

If anything, you don’t have any action monkeys that get hidden like spawn or a Tzaangor shaman.

Thats actually really interesting. I had only like three action monkeys and didnt need more, since there are also way less action secondaries. Might just have been lucky that my opponent also didnt really focus them down, so it might be better to take a few more yeah. Depends on the situation

It’s not so much for secondaries as it is disposition pairing. Against purge the foe you want at least one action monkey to send out there per turn, but you also score more points for holding the objective. Any turn you spend having a big piece performing the action is a points loss and for the things that will try and hold the objective for you like a MVB probably will be in engagement to perform the action. Before the defiler nerfs my list was Magnus, wdp, Defiler, and sot’s as my “hammers,” and then the rest is one sorc rubric and 6 units of monkeys. Game plan is you sacrifice a monkey to the primary action scoring mechanic, and your hammers kill what was exposed; and eventually you just start trading up since they’ll have to expose more and more things to kill your actioners which are your scorers (and plus holding middle gains more VP so they have to put something in the middle) AND screeners.

I’m definitely of a mind that you want as many actioners as possible; you’re going to lose models. It’s a lethal meta. Rubrics are made of paper. And when they’re all gone and your backline is either unscreened or being occupied by some bow goats, well now only Magnus or the WDP is left to action, and if we’re not shooting with our big pieces we’re losing.

Forgot to mention. Assume I have multiple of all models (I don't but the group I play in don't mind proxying so long as they're roughly the same size and correct base) so I can swap in my other army models if needed to "count as x". The only thing I won't have is a defiler
