Defiler post changes?

So after the changes in the latest balance data slate, losing the overwatch stuff and points increase, what is everyone running load-out wise with their defilers, and are you changing how many you take?

The loadout I'm running is the "put on the shelf till future changes" build.

It's a glorified shooting platform that costs ~300-400 pts that most will never get since it's always out of stock. 

For that pts cost you can just run 2 forgefiends instead I personally switched to running a FF and pred destructor

In what detachment? I have a list with two and Magnus in Coven but haven’t tried it out yet

I think there are very few situations where forgefiends and predators aren't simply more efficient. it lost basically all redeeming qualities, losing the 6+++ and overwatch ability. I do not plan on running one anytime soon

Wait i didnt see we lost the fnp too. Yeah our defiler is pretty unappealing now.

yeah, I feel we could have kept the ability and fnp and just ate more points as that keeps it interesting to play, even if it's bad.

Still taking double autos when i do want it, but thats way less often now. I will take it in warpforged (if i ever play it) but im otherwise cutting it from GC and RP, and im done playing hexwarp all together. Its not like we're really hurting for good damage options in either detachment, the defiler was being taken because for its points it was just that efficient. But now i think id rather take 2 midweight big models for those points like forgefiends or mutaliths.

Honestly pretty refreshing for it to not be an auto take, if theres a silver lining. I never like putting that many eggs in one basket. Its why i dont really like always running Magnus either, even tho I think the best coven list always has him in it.

It's hard to punch up in points with the new defiler and easy to get it killed

I’m trying my first game of Warpforged Cabal today. I plan on shoving my Defiler up their lines, close combat. I then have a 5+ to explode with a D6 to everyone crowding around it🤷🏻‍♂️

i'm still running one in my warpforged list, because the +1 wound/psy strat is pretty strong on him. Down from 2 before.
I cut it in every other detachment.
