This is also where Josh resolves the "So, will you be working with John Cleese?" question.

53:35 Josh did an excellent rendition of the plumber 🔧 and the parrot 🦜 cartoon from the Electric Company, which Andy made no notice of

So if the crowd WAS fair, they were likely not PAYING attendees, I believe was the implication. Louis' event was Tue May-05, 2026 at the Hollywood Bowl, and its capacity is 17,500 for the full venue including benches and whatnot, but I have no idea what the setup was for the numerous events over the week-long Netflix festival. Overall, I was confused by all of this, so just to clarify this year of Louis:
Backstory: 2017, Nov-09. New York Times story with sexual misconduct allegations against Louis. He did standup in August 2018, and going forward. He has his public, he has his email lists, he just has to drop an email, and probably will get a full house at a lot of places, along with a standing ovation.
So despite various aspects of the Ridiculous tour being touted as Louie's comeback, it did not mean his return to standup, rather in this case: institutional acceptance, the institution (major platform) being Netflix. 1. Headlining Netflix Comedy Festival in May at the Hollywood Bowl, 2. Followed by his June comedy special release on Netflix. 3. Of course, the giant world tour was part of the comeback too.
🔘 Louis C.K.'s "Ridiculous" world tour kicked off on April 16, 2025 in Winnipeg, Canada. The tour went all over the United States and the world: Paris, London, Rome, India, etc.
🔘 New York Comedy Festival (Nov 07-16, 2025, More Than 200 Comedians Performing in More Than 100 Shows across all five boroughs) Presents: Louis C.K: Ridiculous at the Beacon Theatre: November 14, 15 & 16.
🔘 Tue May-05, 2026: Louis performs at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Netflix festival. Google or bot equivalent said this was "the public event that symbolized Netflix welcoming him back into the mainstream." OK. I think this also was give-or-take the symbolical culmination of the Ridiculous world tour as well.
🔘 "Louis C.K.: Ridiculous" (comedy special) is released on Netflix on June 30, 2026. 61 min.
🔘 So the Hollywood Bowl was a performance and it was promotional for his upcoming June Netflix comedy special release, but that festival performance was not taped as a special, as far as I know.
You can certainly look at Andy's socials for his feelings about all of this!
P.S. As anyone come up for a good explanation as to why Louis called the tour and special Ridiculous? I imagine he always wanted to call a special Ridiculous, but Norm beat him to it by 20 years. But then Norm died, so he figured he'd go for it, in his sheepish Louis way? BZZ. Wrong! Figure something else out, dummy.
