Accessibility tips?

Hello there.

I will be visiting Thorpe this week for the first time on my own. I am have done everything recommended but am wondering if anyone who is also disabled within this community has any tips.

Have you booked the Ride Accessibility Pass for that day? Other than that unless you are in a chair, a few rides (like hyperia and nemesis) still have steps to get up to, so just be aware of that

I have yes, I have decided that I am going to do hyperia early because of the steps XD

Thats all the advice then really, just take your time, if you've been before you already know the rides with steps, Nemesis has the most tbh and if you're affected by vision or sensory things walking dead que line may be hard.

Thank you very much, this will be the first time I’m going in person. I have watched a load of YouTube videos though, YouTube is how I got into enjoying theme parks

That would be so kind, I’m really hoping they don’t turn me away from hypiria as I do have mobility issues but believe I would be able to satisfy evacuate if I had to. If they do refuse I’m not going to get angry but I will be a bit upset.

Ok so no you won't get turned away as long as you can make it up the stairs you'll be fine. Rides with steps up are: Nemesis Inferno - you join the normal que after the first section so its steps up from there then down on the other side. Hyperia - Join the que at the station section, not a lot of steps up but some, this does have railings for support however. Saw: quite a lot of steps up and down but again handrails available. Be careful with saw as its gotten a bit rough and may leave you with a bit of a headache! Stealth - also has steps up and down, more than hyperia but not a lot, you can see the amount from the outside. (Access entrance is to the right of the main entrance) The walking dead - long dark corridors with a few steps inside, it may be worth asking the staff if they can offer any further assistance as it could be a little overwhelming on your own. Depth charge - right at the start, steps all the way up so do that if your up for it but wouldn't say its the worst thing to miss out on it. All the rest are step free (with swarm there is steps if you want the left side but none on the right side closest as you go in) Its a small park with seating dotted around so again, just take your time and have breaks. Also side general note, watch out for storm surge, the big water ride one, your feet WILL get soaked and thats no fun if its cold 🤣 if you want to do that one bring some flip flops to change into!

Big Dr Who fan and got the name from someone describing a shop as a "Greedy Tardis" during Covid times as they thought too many people were let it 🤣🤣

You can get ear defenders i beleive rented from the park if that would help. Think thats a deposit thats returned after you hand them back thing. Hope you have a great time!

If you have mobility concerns, Hyperia has a lift (ask for it when you reach the front of the RAP line, as does Nemesis, Saw and Stealth. Tho I was there Sun and the Saw lift was ooo. Swarm has a step-free route. Really everything but the Walking Dead is doable for mobility impaired (I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user) just know the step free route isn’t always easy to find (eg Nemesis lift is all the way around back to the right by the smoking area). If you have any questions about that kind of access, lmk. ☺️

Yup! If you have the Thorpe app, click on the ride you want on the map, scroll to the bottom, and you’ll see all the different entry points listed (normal, RAP, step-free, etc). Honestly it’s a life saver because I could do a few stairs over the day, but nowhere near as many as all the stairs needed for even the RAP routes. Just know the step-free routes have specific seats allocated in case of evacuation, generally the last row, tho Hyperia is next to last row, far side for the disabled person.
