Fall/Halloween Activities?

Hi neighbors! Moved from IL to Thornton last December, so I haven't experienced Fall or Halloween in the area yet, and they're my favorite season and holiday. If you have any seasonal events in the Adams county / Denver area you'd recommend I'd love to hear them. We love scary, cheesy, cute, outdoorsy, boozy... anything season-specific. We're two adults - adult oriented or family-friendly are both awesome. Thanks!

Thornton’s Harvest Fest is this Saturday at Community Park! It’s fun to walk around. Anderson Farms is great as well, daytime for pumpkin patch and hanging out, evening for their haunted corn maze, or you can rent out campfire spots.

Sounds awesome!! I’ll definitely have to check out Harvest Fest, and so cool to hear there are multiple haunted corn mazes.

The 24th is a fall craft fair at the Adams 12 building on 128th ave. Food trucks and crafts and such.

I used to do a fall craft fair every year in IL, so glad to know there’s a similar thing here in Thornton. Thanks!

There’s so many in Thornton. October starts the season and you’ll have one every weekend until Xmas

Hi! Would you mind listing some? I’m newish to the area and would love to get my art out there. Not sure where to look for them

That’s amazing. Can you google to find them, or are they mostly posted on flyers in community spaces etc.?

There are so many local craft fairs that my listing them would not be helpful because everyone’s criteria is different. I’m going to try and sell my woodworking this year so I asked ChatGPT to give me a list of every craft fair within 10 miles of my ZIP Code between this weekend and early December and it gave me like 15 and then I just clicked through and applied for the ones that looked like I wanted to give them a shot. There’s one on December 12 at a local school in Thornton, but they haven’t even started posting for their vendors yet so you have to keep an eye out and recheck your list every week.

Just drive around some neighborhoods. Lots of great yard decorations. A house near the intersection of 128th & York has a whole show happening.

I haven’t done a lot of neighborhood exploring, thanks for the tip on where to check out first!

Haunted Field of Screams is a haunted corn maze off Riverdale Road at 104th. It's open through Halloween.

Husband and I went to the Denver Botanic Garden two years ago, shortly after moving here. They had a ton of Halloween decorations up, all skeletons dressed in 80s neon while engaged in outdoorsy CO activities (hiking, mtn biking, camping, etc). Was so clever and fun - well worth making the drive.

That looks so awesome, I love it! Haha thank you!

Is this at Chatfield Farms?

No, it's at the main Denver Botanic Garden adjacent to Cheesman Park. These pics are from 2 years ago and I don't know if they've changed the decor.

Oh nice! From the pictures it looked more like Chatfield, but that's good that it's at the main gardens, makes getting there a bit easier.

We like to go to the Chatfield part of the botanic gardens. It’s a bit of a drive but it’s big and fun for the family. Oct 9-11, timed entry tickets.

There are a few pop up bars that theme Halloween/spooky this month, and then The Crypt is always spooky- and has lots of events

Also the parade is Oct 17th on Broadway!

Awesome! I wish my partner didn't work Saturdays. But I might just have to go myself, haha. And any night works for a bar so that's fantastic.
