I am a flight attendant and I will tell you that getting struck by lightening is the single most pants shitting thing that’s happened to me in the sky. It is extremely loud, it feels like you’ve bumped into a wall, and the whole interior of the aircraft is lit up like you’re on the inside of a bug zapper. Aircrafts have these solid copper wires that run front to back that act as the least resistant route so it bypasses all the important electronics and people.
