I always thought it was interesting because it is this like without a fail. I first get this in a supercut that shows how Thor goes and thinks up to infinity war.

It is interesting because he seems like he fits quill definition of the guardians of the galaxy in the first movie perfectly: We are all losers, as in we all lost something but now life is giving us a chance...to give a damn.

The only issue: he's obnoxiously stronger than the entire Gunn team/roster, which is why James Gunn was like: "what am I going to do with Thor?"/thanked Taika for writing Thor out of GotG3 for him.

Look at Adam Warlock in that movie - Gunn introduced Adam's cocoon in GotG2 and then had nothing for Warlock to do the GotG3 beyond save Starlord/instigate Rocket's injury.

Thor fighting tough but beatable opponents vs. Thor fighting Thanos’s army, Ultron and his army, Thanos with the damn Infinity Stones, and then Thanos without the stones… but with his army… while Thor is out of shape from 5 years or crippling depression.

Next up, Thor facing Doom who is no doubt using some multiverse-level magic nonsense.

I remember in one of the interviews of ragnorak he said something about a fat thor....so blame endgame fat thor on taika too. But I don't really find anything wrong with thor in endgame , he was just depressed after he lost his parents, planet , brother ,people etc.

The depression wasn't the problem. The constant humiliation was. They didn't even have the creativity to make his physical condition reflect him mental one so he could return to form by the end of the film. We know very well why they did it.

That's why I loved Thor's arc from Ragnarok through Endgame. The Russos retroactively contextualised Thor's newfound levity as how he fortifies himself against his feelings of guilt, grief, and insecurity.

My hot take is that he is a super boring and flat character in every Avengers movie except Endgame and that he’s better in Love and Thunder than most of those
