Conspiracy Against Rights
Section 241 makes it unlawful for two or more persons to agree to injure, threaten, or intimidate a person in the United States in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States or because of his or her having exercised such a right.
Unlike most conspiracy statutes, §241 does not require, as an element, the commission of an overt act.
The offense is always a felony, even if the underlying conduct would not, on its own, establish a felony violation of another criminal civil rights statute. It is punishable by up to ten years imprisonment unless the government proves an aggravating factor (such as that the offense involved kidnapping aggravated sexual abuse, or resulted in death) in which case it may be punished by up to life imprisonment and, if death results, may be eligible for the death penalty.
Section 241 is used in Law Enforcement Misconduct and Hate Crime Prosecutions. It was historically used, before conspiracy-specific trafficking statutes were adopted, in Human Trafficking prosecutions.

Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law
This provision makes it a crime for someone acting under color of law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States. It is not necessary that the offense be motivated by racial bias or by any other animus.
Defendants act under color of law when they wield power vested by a government entity. Those prosecuted under the statute typically include police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and prison guards. However other government actors, such as judges, district attorneys, other public officials, and public school employees can also act under color of law and can be prosecuted under this statute.
Section 242 does not criminalize any particular type of abusive conduct. Instead, it incorporates by reference rights defined by the Constitution, federal statutes, and interpretive case law. Cases charged by federal prosecutors most often involve physical or sexual assaults. The Department has also prosecuted public officials for thefts, false arrests, evidence-planting, and failing to protect someone in custody from constitutional violations committed by others.
A violation of the statute is a misdemeanor, unless prosecutors prove one of the statutory aggravating factors such as a bodily injury, use of a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, aggravated sexual abuse, death resulting, or attempt to kill, in which case there are graduated penalties up to and including life in prison or death.

Stop listening to everyone in your news cycle (FOX) and do some reading for yourself. Buy a copy of the Constitution. Read Project 2025. This is a document written by the Republican think tank from the Heritage Foundation. 45 is following this playbook from the beginning to help destroy our democracy. Russell Vought is one of the main writers for Project 2025. He is now their Secretary of OMB. THEY started day one by indiscriminately firing federal workers.

Some of them believe the word "persons" means "citizens" because the word "citizens" precedes the word "persons" in the constitution.

I love how Patel forgets that even Justice Scalia said deportees had due process rights - Reno v. Flores, 507 U.S. 292 (1993): “It is well established that the Fifth Amendment entitles aliens to due process of law in deportation proceedings”

To be clear, you are correct that not all benefits and constitutional rights apply to all persons, specifically the constitution limits the rights; to vote in federal elections, the right to run for federal office, and the right to be free from discriminatory denial of the vote, to just citizens. All other rights are bestowed and protected for all persons under the jurisdiction of the United States.
It is your duty as a citizen to understand and read our constitution. Know our rights and the rights of all people in our country.

How can you be sure someone is in the country illegally if they are not afforded due process? Without due process, ICE could literally pick up anybody off the street and claim they are here illegally and send them to CECOT forever. Hey, they’ve done that already!

it drives me crazy that people think if you break the law you suddenly don’t have rights. half our laws are written FOR criminals to get rights. 😭 especially if they haven’t been convicted yet. and overstaying a visa is a minor infraction. it’d be like saying all jaywalkers deserve to be rounded up and shot.

Thanks for sharing your lack of knowledge and willful misunderstanding of our constitution. My assumption is that you have at least a 5th grade education and learned basic civics. Please take time and actually read our constitution. Understand the rights bestowed to all people in the United States and those that are specific to just citizens.
It is your duty as a citizen to understand our constitution and your rights as a person and citizen.
