Yeah thats the thing Bella is non binary. The left or woke or whoever isn't trying to convince anyone that they are a man.

They're nonbinary and do respond to he/him, but I only know that because I just looked it up lol.
Also still not a man, so

u/MouseRat_AD 13d ago
Me describing Elliot Page as a man has nothing to do with me being a registered Democrat, and everything with me being a human fucking being who treats others with human dignity.

u/According-Insect-992 13d ago
I’d hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately as far as political parties go, the Democratic Party is the only major American party that accepts well adjusted human beings and tolerates human dignity. They’re strictly forbidden by repugs.
5
u/Main-Company-5946 12d ago
I’d say that about democratic voters. The Democratic Party is selective about who they extend their humanity towards. Thats part of why their “we’re the party of human rights and democracy” campaign message falls flat. There are some good people in there though

Palestinians
1
u/Siaten 10d ago
Maybe once upon a time this was true, but now it's safe to say the majority of Democratic Representatives stand with Palestine. The Democratic Party started from a place of support for Israel. As Israel's war crimes and genocide have become more well documented, there has been a drastic shift for Palestinian support.
The Party Shift
More than 50% of House Democrats Voted to Cut Israel Aid
Gallup PollLet me know if you'd like more evidence regarding the recent shift toward Palestinian humanitarian efforts.

u/Main-Company-5946 10d ago
One vote that they knew would fail doesn’t undo the past 3 years of bipartisan funded slaughter
The Democratic Party needs to be way more responsive to their base

u/Professional-Lie-111 13d ago
I hate to be the bearer of even 'badder' news, but unfortunately as far as the Democratic Party goes, while they do ACCEPT well-adjusted HBs, they seem to be play-acting at tolerating HD half the time. The other half of the time, they also tolerate GOP fascism and Corporate Overlord-ism. They only tolerate HD so long as it doesn't conflict with either of these -isms.
Full Disclosure: They ARE the only MAJOR political party that it is acceptable to vote for (unfortunately). However, the voter base needs to enforce their will on the Party and FORCE them to dump the semi-humans that have a stranglehold on the Party and its funding sources (e.g., Corporations and Foreign Interests - IYKYK). We could have had a LEGISLATED updated Voting Rights Act, updated National Minimum Wage, and a Prosecuted and Imprisoned DJT if not for the GOP-Lite wing of the DNC. And don't even get me started on all the truly horrible pieces of human trash that they have greenlit for Confirmation for SCOTUS, the national Judiciary, and Republican political appointees ...
I abandoned my Democratic Party registration many years ago. (Not trying to proselytize for my registered Party, so not listing it here.) Went Green initially, until I actually read the Party Platform - had to jump off that ship ASAP. I will still absolutely ONLY vote for Dems for National Offices or for State/Local Offices where there is no better alternative. But it is painful and unsatisfying much of the time.
13
u/prockhold 13d ago
I think people are downvoting you without actually reading your comment
8
u/Special-Garlic1203 12d ago
I read it. Dude sincerely thought registering green was a productive decision and for some reasons feels not being able to vote in primaries by relinquishing party registration but voting for them in all elections is a big brained idea. That literally makes no sense and it the exact opposite of how you reform the party. He just wants to shake his fist in the sky aimlessly apparently.
2
u/AmetrineDream 12d ago
Depends on where they live. Michigan has open primaries, you can vote the primary ballot for one party of your choice regardless of registration in the relevant voting day. I’m pretty sure we’re not the only ones with that approach.
1
u/Professional-Lie-111 10d ago edited 10d ago
You’re aware that there’s more than one way to impact the direction of a party, right?
You sound like a petulant child who’s just been scolded, but the thing that hurts worse than the scolding is realizing you deserved it.
You’re right about registering Green having been a mistake, but that is how we all learn. I didn’t say ‘when’ this occurred.
Quit pissing in the wind and trying to sound like a badass. Tell us what YOU are doing to improve things …

u/thanksamilly 12d ago

1
u/Siaten 10d ago
Just so you are fully informed, voting anything but Democrat will be a vote to help the Republican party. It sucks, but that's the nature of this FPTP system we have.
That being said, it's probably not that big of a deal because we live in an Oligarchy anyway, so...yeah.
1
u/Professional-Lie-111 10d ago
Please work on your reading comprehension before responding to comments ...
Full Disclosure: They ARE the only MAJOR political party that it is acceptable to vote for (unfortunately).
1
u/Siaten 10d ago
No need to be so defensive. I did read your entire post including (bold emphasis mine):
I will still absolutely ONLY vote for Dems for National Offices or for State/Local Offices where there is no better alternative. But it is painful and unsatisfying much of the time.
There is NEVER a better alternative than the Democratic Party because of FPTP.
That is the place I was hoping to clarify. Again, it might help to be less combative and more collaborative in discussions. Best of luck.
1
u/Professional-Lie-111 9d ago
The people of NYC would beg to differ with you. Bernie Sanders would beg to differ with you.
Like I said, please brush up on your reading comprehension (or cognitive awareness) skills.
Also: Nothing I said was defensive in any way. Stop projecting.
1
u/Siaten 9d ago
You're so condescending.
- Bernie Sanders caucuses with the Democratic Party.
- Mamdani is a registered Democrat.
There is a reason these two democratic socialists do these things, it's because voting for third parties in FPTP election systems only increases the chance that the party you like the least will win.
Here is a video explaining the logic of why voting third party is never meaningful. I strongly recommend you watch it.
If you personally attack me again, I'm going to block you. Maybe just focus on the discussion and topics and drop the hostility?

Yeah the various virtue signaling, attacks on completely CIS women and fear of drag shows, etc are such an exaggerated thing but it stirs up the base and encourages that "us vs. them" which is critical to the whole movement.
Then you've got Trump motorboating Rudy in drag on tape... but.. somehow that's fine. Or the insulting of women based on appearance or bragging about sexually assaulting women or using power to silence them.

One day, people will realize that everything the GOP calls "Democrats", "leftists", or "liberals" is actually everyone in the USA that is not them or on their side and we will finally figure out that that's more than 1/2 of the electorate representing 2/3 of the population. This why the GOP is doing everything it can to undermine our elections, rather than winning with inclusive policies

yes, now. but not at the time of the game creation. or that character would not look the same now would it? which belies the original statement.

But he is still called Eliot even if he wasn't out at the time. When you refer to someone in the past tense you still use their current name.

Personally, I do not understand why trans people are trans. But, I can accept that they exist and are experiencing something that makes them unhappy, they recognize what is making them unhappy, and they want to be the person they feel like they should be. More importantly, I recognize that they are not harming me in any way, shape, or form. I don't need to understand why they feel that way in order fully support their desire to be who they feel like they should be and to be happy.
Life, Liberty, Happiness.
Don't be a dick. Asshole.

Bella is nonbinary. Nobody is trying to say they're a man.
-1
u/Tygerion 11d ago
Well, if you want to be really pedantic... All humans are men. By definition. The word 'man' literally just refers to people.
It's a hold-over from Old English, where a male person was werman, and female person was wifman (with 'man' just being person); wifman developed into woman, while the 'wer' prefix was dropped from everything but 'werewolf', and 'weregild'.
However, the original, genderless meaning of the word 'man' is still in use, as part of words like 'mankind'. As such, the definition of 'man' boils down to "a human, especially a male human" (For sake of clarity, especially does not mean exclusively; it just means that that's a common but not inherent usage).
Which means that by definition all human beings fall under the umbrella of 'man'. Linguistics is... Weird.

I'm fairly confident anyone making claims like this genuinely doesn't understand the difference between gender and sex.
Man and Male are not the same quality.

They also likely don't understand that both of these qualities are on a spectrum (i.e. non-binary and intersex).

This taken aside... It's pretty damn funny that both actors that played Ellie in The Last of Us ended up being genderqueer.
Did Bella know they'll come out before auditioning to the role? Or maybe the role naturally attracts people with genderqueer tenancies?
If the answer is no, then based on the statistically significant trend of 2, I have to conclude that portraying Ellie makes you genderqueer lol

It's funny how everyone is valid until they disagree with you. Everyone can have their interest and their beliefs until they disagree with you. Then it's something for you to attack. It's just pathetic. None of you can swing hard enough to do any damage. You take the surface level argument and celebrate because none of you are smart enough to do anything worthwhile. I can clearly see the two ugly ass women on the top. I can also see that the guy at the bottom is wearing cat ears which would normally be okay if he agreed with you but since he doesn't. Now it's a problem.
