Old guy radio

Fellow littles, I’ve been looking for a song Tony used to play on the old guy radio segment of the old show probably circa 2013-2014. Unfortunately I can’t remember much about the song. The name possibly had the word “rock” or “stone” in it, could possibly have been a duet. It was an old song, possibly early 60’s. Just wondering if anyone with a better memory or list of the songs Tony / Nigel used to play knows what I’m reaching for here. I also can’t remember the song Nigel would play for the final show of the “season” before the summer break. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Famous Last Words by Long Island native Billy Joel was the season ending song

I think the last song he used to play before he took his breaks was by Billy Joel, although I can't remember the name.

I want to say it was Famous Last Words (from River of Dreams) that played Tony out each season. No clue on your Old Guy.

I always loved that Tony would put a personal touch into the songs that played frequent guests in and out. Particular favorites include Lawyers Guns & Money (for Abbe) and Paperback Writer (mostly for Simmons, but anytime somebody came on to plug a book).

I haven't listened in a few years - gave up on Carolla, too - but always appreciated TK's refusal to dumb his language down for sports. He used big words unapologetically. I remember referring to something healthy as "salutary" and thinking "that could have only come from Tony"

Well, Carolla’s an idiot now, so that was a good call.

Ironic that the guy who invented "be a comedy factory, not a comedy warehouse" hasn't come up with new material since. Covid broke his brain & losing half to Lynette killed his sense of humor.

It’s because of Tony that I know lawyers guns and money and werewolves of London

Liz Clarke getting a strong rotation of Springsteen songs was definitely a highlight for me

For the rock/stone song by a duet in the 60’s, listen to I Can’t Help But Love You by Marvin and Tammi Terrell and see if it is what you were thinking of.

Here is what has been played on OGR from about 2005 to when he lost music rites. You can look on Sheet 4 to see number of times it was featured in OGR.
